Chippenham Park is a thriving family estate. The house, gardens, and park were
created at the very end of the 17th century by Admiral Lord Russell with
permission from William II. At this time of year daffodils are a sea of yellows,
creams and whites at Chippenham Park. A welcome affront to the senses at a
time of year when we have been starved of colour for months. Spring is an
exceptional times in these gardens and not to be missed. With acres of gardens

Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse, run by Norfolk Museums Services, is just
three miles from Dereham Station and is a truly unique museum. After your
train journey from Wymondham enjoy a light lunch at Dereham. Then continue
with your trip to Gressenhall. Visit the historic workhouse building featuring
new exhibition galleries exploring ‘Voices from the Workhouse’ the museum

JUNE Fri 05 Steve Hewlett at The West Cliff Theatre £30.00 Join us for a trip to Clacton’s West Cliff Theatre to see Steve Hewlett and a whole host of characters for a night filled with comedy and laughter suitable for all ages. As well as touring in his own shows – ‘Thinking Inside The Box’ & ‘30 Years Of Talking To Myself’ – Steve has also been seen on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and as a Wildcard & Finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, Steve was also at 2019’s Thursford Christmas Spectacular. Witness the turnstile in action and marvel at the attention to detail on our repica train station before boarding the train. Departing from Exbury Central Station, the train meanders through the Summer Lane Garden (not accessible by foot) before skirting past the Rock Garden, travelling through the tunnel and then stopping off at Exbury North to refuel. The return journey includes a circle of Dragonfly Pond, where passengers can watch out for wildlife, before heading back to Exbury Central. Sat 04 Wisbech Rose Fair £25.00 This is a ideal day out, in the award winning St Peters Gardens you can wander amongst a variety of stalls selling local produce with fresh fruit and vegetables, plants, cakes and preserves, plus crafts and gifts. More stalls can be found in the picturesque Museum Square. The magnificent 900 year old parish church of St Peter and St Paul is the main attraction of this annual event, and is the setting for the breathtaking displays of traditional flowers and exotic blooms. The Round Table have organised a Parade of floats. Local schools, businesses and organisations decorate and make sets to a certain theme to go on lorries from different haulage companies resulting in a fantastic sight all round town. SEPTEMBER Thurs 17 Battle of Britain Memorial £30.00 A new day trip for 2020, we will be visiting the Battle of Britain Memorial. The Battle of Britain Memorial Trust extends a warm welcome to those who wish to show their respects to the heroes of the Battle of Britain by visiting this unique site of pilgrimage. The National Memorial to the Few is a peaceful space, ideal for quiet reflection, atop the famous White Cliffs and offering superb views across the Channel to France. The central statue of a lone pilot is complemented by the Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial Wall, two replica aircraft and other items of interest. Also included is The Scramble Experience - it offers an interactive and immersive experience for all ages, giving a taste of what life was like during the Battle of Britain. You will be able to learn about who and what was involved in the Battle of Britainl Dress up as a fighter pilot in the dispersal hut, or use your skills to detect the Luftwaffe aircraft on the radio detection finding radar. The full-size Hurricane cockpit allows visitors to sit in the aircraft, ‘fly’ it to the right height using a realistic joystick and then try to find camouflaged enemy aircraft on a computer simulation.
