Introduction
     On Behalf of the Deputy Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy, Mr.
      Lernes Hebert, the Principle Deputy (MPP) Len Litton and the respective
      Chiefs of Chaplains-Thank You!
     Note: I am speaking Today principally for the Office of the Secretary of
      Defense.

Mission
     The Armed Forces Chaplains Board makes recommendations to the Secretary
      of Defense and the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness
      on religious, ethical, and moral matters for the Military Services, and on the
      following policy matters:
            Protection of the free exercise of religion according to Amendment I to the
             Constitution of the United States.
            Procurement, professional standards, and requirements of military chaplains.
            Credentialing of religious organizations seeking to provide chaplains for the
             Military Services.
            Promotion of dialog with civilian organizations regarding religious issues.

Responsibilities of Endorsing
                         “If it’s worth preaching the first time, it’s worth preaching again!”

     Responsibilities of Endorsing:
            Respect-Were all adults here! Your Experience and commitment in service matters.
            Stay in communication with your Chaplains and hold them accountable and be
             accountable (teaching/Mentoring, Sensitive to family of Chaplains etc).
            Stay current with relevant Endorser DoD Instructions.
            Keep open communication with Service Chaplaincy Opportunities-i.e., Air Force and Navy
             1st Day Strategic Leadership Symposium, Air force and Army Endorser Teleconferences,
             ICECE and NCMAF, and the AFCB Endorser Conference.
            Maintain Communication with the AFCB!
            Maintain a good Point of Contact E-Mail and Phone number to reach you if necessary.
            Be alert for and responsive to AFCB E-Mail communications.
     VERY IMPORTANT for continued Listing as a DoD Endorser:
            Complete annual Form 100 and or 200 Compliance Forms NLT 31 January of following
             year.

AFCB Endorser Updates
     Mr. Len Litton, SES, the Principle Deputy (MPP) has been added to MPP Team
      and has the AFCB/OSD in his direct portfolio. AFCB Executive Director works
      directly with Mr. Litton.
     New Executive Director-Air Force takes the helm: Approx. May-July 2021
     Projected AFCB Endorser Conference 2022.
     Revision (September 1, 2020) 1300.17, New Name: "RELIGIOUS LIBERTY IN THE
      MILITARY SERVICES”
     Anticipated Revision of DoDI 1304.28 “Guidance for the Appointment of
      Chaplains for the Military Departments” Pre-Decisional.
     Air Force Chief of Chaplains notice to Endorsers of the Anticipated moving of
      the AF. COC Office from the Pentagon to Bolling AFB. Commencing Movement
      February 2021.
     Need to receive Compliance Forms (100 and/or 200) ASAP!
