   Leading the way
   A big well done to two brilliant colleagues who’re helping make this a place where people
   love to work.
      Rajesh Gupta, Head of Trading for Argos Financial Services, and Sarah Nelson, Group
   Financial Controller, have been named in the Financial Times EMPower Top 100 Ethnic
   Minority Leaders list.
      The list celebrates those fantastic role models in the UK who are improving their
   workplaces so they can inspire black, Asian and minority ethnic colleagues.
      Rajesh is chairman of our Argos BAME network, which he helped to set up and develop,
   while Sarah, who appears on the list for the second year running, coaches people in her
   BAME mentoring circles and shares her experiences through public speaking.

What’s new
Banana split
We’re cutting waste and protecting the planet in our
depots by swapping cardboard banana boxes with
reusable folding plastic crates.
  The switch means we’ll be using four million fewer
cardboard boxes in our business every year. Our
Northampton and St Albans depots have already made
the change, and it’ll be rolled out across our other

     reality. The Design Manager for Sainsbury’s Home and Argos Home
            tells us the story behind the latest collection in store.

     Colleagues got a shock when a
     stowaway hen jumped off a delivery
     lorry as it pulled into our Waltham
     Abbey Depot.
        It’s thought the adventurous fowl
     hopped onboard when the lorry stopped
     to collect eggs at a local farm. It then
     spent the entire journey in the space
     between the truck’s cab and trailer.
        Quick-thinking colleagues put the
     chicken into a box until an RSPCA officer
     arrived, and nicknamed it Ginger after
     the character in Chicken Run, who
     plots a similar escape.

                                                   for male suicide charity CALM, under-25 support

                                                   spotting £11,000 of potential direct debit prospects.
                                                      “The charities are always overwhelmed by the
                                                   amount of insights we produce in a day,” said Katie
