OUR
STORY

With The Travelling Nut we import
            and distribute wild and natural
beverages we love, from people we
like and share them with like-minded
                         souls.

                 Just as easy as that.

We don’t compromise on quality or
believes and only work with people
we would love to work with, so we
             can truly build up something
                 wonderful together.

If you like wild and natural beverages,
have a look at our Book Of Booze,
where you can find the wonderful
stories about the people and their
          little enterprises, behind the drinks
                         we love.

MICHELBERGER
BOOZE (DE)

Traditional German Schnapps with a modern aesthetic; Michelberger Booze brings together
age-old recipes and techniques with the cutting-edge approach of Berlin’s most beloved
                                    boutique hotel.

Together with Gerald and the Professor we uncovered these two ancient German recipes
deep down in the catacombs of their 140 year old distillery.

We don't know if it was created for an ancient king or princess, or a magic potion mixed by
                                          a herbalist.
What we do know is that for some, drinking it feels like sitting in a time machine while others
are transported into the middle of a fairy tale and your grandmother would probably see it
falling straight out of heaven or hell.

One clear, fresh and bracing, like soaring through the mountain air and the other dark,
mysterious, warming, and mellow, like padding through the rustling leaves of a forest.
Think of something beautiful, drink it.

PEPPE’S
INGWERER (CH)
Ingwerer is a hand crafted ginger liqueur from Bern, Switzerland.
They use organic ginger and organic apples from a farm next to
their producing facility, some spices and alcohol and there is
                                   Ingwerer.

It’s not only the strong and unique taste of the healthy ginger root
that makes this drink so popular but it’s also the many ways you
                                   can use it.

You can drink it chilled or at room temperature and you can
choose to shake the bottle before pouring to make it even more
                                   intense.

Usually you drink it as a shot in good company, but if you are in the
mood for a slower treatment, you can simply enjoy it on the rocks
as well or even fix a delicious drink with on of the dozens of recipes
the Ingwerer Community has created such as mixing it with soda,
                         tonic, beer, gin or prosecco.

FREDERIKSDAL
KIRSEBAERVIN (DK)

When holding a glass of Frederiksdal wine in your hand, try to forget all about both
grape wine and cherry wine for a moment and prepare to be surprised.

Our wines have entirely unique nuances in flavour derived from one of the best
berries in the world, namely the Danish Stevnsbær cherry. With this berry, we have
established a quality wine production that is beyond comparison. It is not traditional
cherry wine, with which you probably already feel familiar – for better or worse.

Nor is it port or red wine. It is unique.

At Frederiksdal, we have taken a path that no one has
taken before. Rather than producing wine working against the Danish climate, we
use the advantages offered by nature and the Danish weather.

The basis is the unique ingredient, the Stevnsbær cherry, which has the very best
conditions for growth in Denmark. We use the cherry’s high levels of sugar, acid and
antioxidants, allowing the berries to ferment naturally for a few days following harvest
                               to obtain maximum complexity.
Subsequently, we let the wines develop differently. We use methods known for
centuries in winemaking, but also our own, new methods, as cherries differ from the
more common grapes. The result is unique and balanced wines that go equally well
                                with sweet and savoury foods.

DECIDERET
CIDER (DK)

In Denmark we are blessed with apples that balances a tart acidity with a fruitful
apple sweetness. Our cider culture is on the other hand depleted. Our food culture
has been elevated with the new nordic kitchen - now it is time to take a look at
                                      what we drink.
We want to prove that apple cider can be every bit as quenchy and informal as
beer, as complex as wine, as sour as lambic, and as fruitful as freshly squeezed
                                          juice.
We crush and press apples, ferment juice into cider, and bottle it by hand in small
and big bottles - cider can be kept well in both a wine cellar and in a breast
pocket. Some ciders are to be drunk young and fresh with a full throttle apple
flavour. Other ciders gain flavour when aged in oak or through maceration.

For all our ciders we can say that they are wild fermented with a focus on
craftsmanship, curiosity and reducing food waste.

CIDRE
KERNÉ (FR)

Cidrerie Kerné is a successful family business
. founded by Pierre Bosser in
Pouldreuzic, Brittany in 1947. Since Pierre Bosser in his previous job as a wine
distributor has developed a good distribution network, it allowed him to grow
the cider company in no time. In 1977 his son Yves and daughter Michèle took
over, and today Pierre’s grandchildren, Gérard, Anne and Claude run the
                                        ciderie.

The ciders from Cidrerie Kerné are produced with a variety of apples only from
Brittany and mostly from the Finistère area.

The artisanal cidres vary’s in flavour and usage, we offer the Kerné Brut
    75cl/25cl(Dry), Kerné Doux 75cl (Sweet), Keltys 75cl(Organic semi-dry) and
Delice de Cidre75cl/25cl (Sweet and tangy)

PENYLLAN
BREWING (DK)

At Penyllan we focus on brewing small batches of beer, aged slow and cool on wood
with our house culture of wild yeast.
We are inspired by the changing seasons and the wealth of ingredients available to us
                                on our beautiful island.

My husband and I moved to the little island of Bornholm with a vision of making beer
using some of the glorious local ingredients. Bornholm is located in the middle of the
Baltic sea, and has a unique climate, making it home to a wide range of grains, herbs
and fruits that can be used in brewing.

In 2015 we found the location we needed on the harbour of the little fishing village of
Tejn. After several months of hard work cleaning, painting, installing equipment and
then some more cleaning, we finally got to make our first beers to fill our many barrels.
What we did not expect was that it would take almost three years before we had the
perfect beers we were looking for. But what we did believe is that it would be worth the
waiting time, to get the unique balance and depth of flavour from a long slow
                                       fermentation.

In the autumn of 2018 the first four beers became available and in the summer of 2019
we will have another few available. Being only two people in the brewery, production is
limited. Our ambition is to be able to add a few beers per year to our core range with
an annual yield of approximately 30.000 bottles.

NEVEL
ARTISAN
ALES (NL)
Nevel is brewing wild fermented beers in Nijmegen.
Beers that don’t shout but have a lot to say.
A recognizable character with interesting and complex flavours,
but also refreshing, easy to drink and low in alcohol.

Brewed with natural and local herbs, fruits, tree barks and even
                       vegetables from our own gardens.
Local suppliers are getting an honest price for their produce, so they
can continue producing their produce in a sustainable way.

Brewing is more than just making beer, it’s the way into new
                                   balance.

Because of this balance our beers, barrel aged or just fresh are great
                             to pair with food.

HERSLEV
BRYGHUS (DK)
Herslev Bryghus is an organic farmhouse brewery amidst the barley fields of Denmark.
We’ve been beer farmers who brew with the crops that grow around us and the
quality of our harvest ensures the quality of our beer.

The way we see it, we’re part of a bigger picture. We respect our resources and
brew with the seasons; we share our fields and fruit trees with the weeds and insects.
We do it because pure nature makes for the best beer.

We brew several series of beers, HARMONY is one of them. Beers that celebrate the
everyday life. It’s the after-work-beer, the refresher or the break.

With the EDGE series we take hops to the limit.

HAY is the flavour of our landscape, brewed 100% with ingredients from Herslev’s
fields and gardens. They’re sour beers with the wild acidity you find in natural wines.
Instead of hops the base is wild fermented hay and their own organic barley.

SEASONAL are beers brewed for every season, fresh and fruitful in the spring,
warming and darker during the colder months.

SPARKLE are our organic zero alcohol beverages, brewed with malt and no added
sugar. The sweetness has derived from the malts and the freshness comes from our
fields as well’ from wild-fermented hay.
LEAVE YOUR
SWORD
KOMBUCHA (NL)

Our Kombucha is raw, natural and sustainable as hell, but that’s
not why you should drink it.

You should drink our kombucha because it’s fucking delicious,
with the complexity and terroir of a natural wine or aged whisky.

We’ve stripped the ingredients and brewing process back to
their most primitive, so our most important ingredient – the tea –
can be the star of the show happening in your mouth.

LYS Kombucha was founded by chef Nicolas Adam in 2016.
After training at Ecole Supérieure de Cuisine Française Grégoire
Ferrandi in Paris, Nicolas spent almost a decade working in
Michelin-starred kitchens. It was here his philosophy about
flavour began to emerge – by collaborating with raw ingredients
and the places they’re made, rather than controlling them,
everything becomes more delicious. As he worked alongside
some of France’s best sommeliers, winemakers and brewers,
Nicolas also discovered that fermentation is nature’s way of
turning raw simplicity into living complexity.
TAUNUSQUELLE
PREMIUM WATER (DE)

Naturalness and uniqueness are their priority.
For more than 20 years, Bad Camberger Taunusquelle has been produced in the
unspoiled nature of the Taunus highlands and bottled in the OberSelters mineral
                       springs in Bad Camberger-Oberselters.

Deep down in the rocks, the mineral water is protected against pollution and
develops its specific taste by mineralization.

The crystal facet bottle goes perfectly with every lunch or dinner and, of course,
                                  with great wines.

Their reusable packaging is environmentally sustainable and conserves the
natural resources for the present and the future.

Bad Camberger Taunusquelle is exclusively available for gastronomy.
Their range varies from the sparkling Classic to the medium sparkling Medium
                                 and the still Naturel.
FOUNTAIN
OF YOUTH
COCONUT WATER(DE)

Fountain of Youth is a 100% natural coconut water from the young green
coconut. Harvested direct from the nut and into the can for maximum
                                   freshness.

Fountain of Youth is naturally sweet, with no added sugar or preservatives
and comes from the same region where the late King of Thailand bought
                                  his family nuts.

Being isotonic and full of electrolytes, it gives you power and helps keep
                                   you young.

Just right as a cool refreshment during or after sport, as thirst quencher in
the park, for dancing with an added kick of rum or as a hangover
                                   breakfast.
ÄNDE
DRINKS (DE)

An organic ginger beer and ginger ale with a twist and a refreshing lemon
and mint lemonade, those are the three delicious drinks from Ände Drinks
                                 from Berlin.

Ginger Root is a classic ginger beer but they also use hops for a nice twist.

The Gentle Ginger could be seen more as a ginger ale, softer and less
spicy but also because of the added hops, the taste is more unique.

The Limonana is a refreshing lemonade made from organic lemons and
                                   nana mint.
BRAND
GARAGE (DE)

Brand Garage has one goal and that is to make as natural as
possible soft drinks made from the best ingredients. Their mixers
Herbal Moscow and Oriental Mama are based on a fermentation
and have a nice layer of flavours which makes them ideal for easy
to make high quality long drinks.

The Bio Mama’s are their range of organic soft drinks produced with
only natural ingredient. So instead of citric acid they use the natural
pectin in the peels of citrus fruits. They found a company in the
middle east that is the only one in the world that can extract the
pectin without making it taste bitter, and that is what you find back,
beautifully balanced flavours with the Passion Fruit as a more exotic
one next to the Lemon and Orange.
Their new gastronomy range also just came out with wonderful new
                             flavours in 33cl bottles.
VOELKEL
BIOZISCH (DE)

Voelkel is producing organic and biodynamic juices for over 80 years now
and started with their lemonade range, BioZisch, over 20 years ago.

What sets them apart is their high Demeter quality ingredients and not-
from-concentrate juices, that they use for their soft drinks.

Another thing what makes their lemonades so good is that they use a
thickening juice mostly from grapes to sweeten their lemonades instead of
sugar. The noticeable effect of this is that you always taste the core flavour
                            instead of the sweetener.

And than there is the water, it’s from their own organic well and the
amount of Co2 that they use is quiet low, which makes the lemonades very
easy to drink without getting a feeling of fullness.
GESCHMACK
COLA (DE)

COLA is part of the Geschmack family, which is not really the name of the
company or brand, there is none, but they had to come up with
                               something.

Like their BIER, COLA is their own interpretation of a good soft drink made
with real cola nut, lemon juice and other spices, but without phosphoric
                                       acid.

They don’t aim to be healthy, since their slogan goes by “COLA won’t
                        make you thin, but happy”.

Like any German cola it contains a decent amount of caffeine to keep
                              your energy up.
