In January 2020, I had the distinct pleasure of visiting your campus and meeting with faculty, students, and staff. I came away very impressed from that visit in terms of the quality of your students, faculty, and campus facilities. Bachelor of Commerce
The purpose of the Bachelor of Commerce program, starting at Chitkara University and an option to transfer
after two years to Odette Business School in the University of Windsor is to develop educated men and
women with a grounding in business ideas and techniques which will help equip them for positions of
responsibility in industry and commerce. The program is designed to provide the broad outlook needed in
modern business, and accordingly stresses on general procedures and methods of attack on problems.
Students are guided toward independent study, and they are encouraged to grapple with business problems
on their own. The objective is to give students an awareness of the position and significance of business in
the world today.
Your degree in Bachelor of Commerce at Odette Business School in Canada allows you to complete
Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) preparatory course requirements and professional education
program modules while earning your Bachelor of Commerce and MBA degree in five years.
The result? At Odette, you won’t simply learn about business—you’ll experience it.
At Chitkara University or at Odette at the University of Windsor, you will quickly discover that education is not
just about taking classes. Students will focus on academics, personal growth and career preparation. While
our faculty takes the lead in academics, our region’s business community plays key supporting roles in

Program Highlights
= This program is jointly developed by mapping Chitkara University B.Com to the curriculum of the
Bachelor of Commerce(Honours Business Administration) degree, UWindsor, Canada so that the
students can seamlessly transfer with Credit for Recognition of Prior Learning and receive the same
learning outcomes and a globally recognized degree i.e. Bachelors of Commerce(Honours Business
Administration) from University of Windsor, Canada.
= Apart from saving hugely on international tuition fee when you study 2 years at Chitkara University, a
high school student will also learn an applied Canadian pedagogy when they start closer to home before
opting to transfer after two years to UWindsor in Canada. Besides tuition fees, a student will also save
on boarding and lodging costs when they stay in their home country for the first two years.
= Conditional letter of offer from UWindsor is issued to all students at the start of the course that lays
down the conditions to transfer to University of Windsor in Canada after successfully completing two
years of their study at Chitkara University.
= Students would be trained for the English Language proficiency requirement (IELTS) during the first two
years of studies at Chitkara University.Learning Outcomes = Evaluate, categorize and explain in-depth relevant relationships of technical knowledge in various business and economic functions to managing business conducted in an ambiguous, complex and unpredictable environment. = Explain economic concepts, key theories, problems and solutions in financial and managerial accounting, finance, taxation, audit and ethics. Integrate knowledge of economics with statistics in order to estimate economic models. = Assess the quality of evidence available in various business contexts and propose ways to reduce the detrimental effects of, or harness legitimate benefits from ambiguity, complexity and unpredictability in various business contexts. = Select and apply an appropriate combination of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to calculate and analyse outcomes, then use the results to recommend the most appropriate plan of action to attain an organisational goal. = Use an appropriate computing tool developed for the Marketing, Supply Chain, Business Analytics and Finance discipline to describe the past, predict the future and recommend the most appropriate plan of action. = Synthesise models of teamwork with personal experience in teamwork to recognise and harness opportunities to expand development of teamwork competence in business contexts. = Demonstrate independent and critical thinking that is required for continuing professional development. = Recognise and propose ways to promote and act on elements of Corporate Social Responsibility in business. = Make professional accounting recommendations including possible alternatives supported by appropriate disclosures informed by principles of transparency, ethics and professional standards (General Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards).

Our students have an option to transfer to UWindsor anytime after successful academic completion of their first two years with us and based on other conditions as laid in the “Transfer to Canada” section FEE STRUCTURE PROGRAM FEES PER SEMESTER (1 to 4) Bachelor of Commerce Rs. 1,75,000/- = Students need to pay Rs.15,000/- towards ERP/Career Advancement Services (CAS) at the time of admission. = Students who will continue in the 3rd Year of the program at Chitkara University will be required to pay a nominal examination fee of Rs. 50,000/- for the 3rd year and will graduate with B.Com from Chitkara University. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS = Successful completion of Class XII in any stream with a minimum of 60% aggregate overall (CBSE, ISC, IB Diploma, State Boards, Cambridge) with 60% in Mathematics. Students who did not take Mathematics in Class XII will have to study and clear 2 Upgrade Maths courses during the first 2 Years which is a mandatory requirement for transferring to UWindsor in Canada in the third year. = A minimum 65% in English in Class XII OR = Achievement of a minimum score of 6.5 bands on the IELTS English proficiency test with no band less than 6 OR = TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – score of at least 570 (or 230 if computer-based score), plus a minimum TWE (essay) score of 4.0, or IBT score of 88 with no section below 20. = Mandatory personal Interview with our Academic Team.
