                Green Iguana Conservation Project
                          Ranked as the No. 1 Activity in San Ignacio for
                          more than 10 years in a row, the Green Iguana Con-
                          servation Project is an interactive exhibit that gives
                          visitors a closer look at the life of Green Iguanas.
                          The venture aims to conserve and look after the
                          endangered species by educating the public about
                          the role Green Iguanas play in the ecosystem.

                          Here, visitors of all ages are given the opportunity
                          to engage with these wonderful reptiles and also,
                          learn about the incubation, hatching, rearing, and
                          releasing process done at the Project.

Tea Tasting
Medicinal Walk
For centuries, the Maya used local plants
and herbs because of their ability to heal
numerous illnesses and pains; including
stomach aches, fever, chicken pox, bot-
flies, allergies, and more.

Found within our 17-acre private estate,
this guided tour takes you through our
hiking trails for an insightful tour of nat-
ural remedies and a hands-on workshop.
Take a stroll as our experienced guide ex-
plains the features of the plants and their
history. The tour follows with a Tea Tast-
ing experience within a traditional Maya
hut with plants hand-picked during the
walk. Here, you will have the opportu-
nity to learn more about their use, craft
your own tea and develop your palette.

Critters of the
Night
Strap on your headlight and take a night
hike adventure for a chance to see the crit-
ters of the night and other animals such
as leaf cutter ants, wolf spiders, orb wa-
ver spiders, cicadas, scorpions, tarantu-
las, opossums, owls, and maybe a lucky
sighting of the sly Kinkajou or Gray Fox!
While exploring the trails, you also trav-
el back in time as you witness an authen-
tic Maya chultun located right within
the property; chultuns were underground
storage chambers commonly used by the
Maya as cisterns for potable water.

for bird lovers. Take a stroll with our ex-
perienced guide through the jungle and

During this tour, you can witness colour-
ful creatures including the Blue Tanager,
Blue-crowned Mot Mot, Warblers, Wood-
peckers, Aracari Toucan, and even rare
sightings of our National Bird, the Keel-
billed Toucan. Known as “the only jungle
in town”, the property has been able to
document a record of 119 species within
the property.

Jaguar Paw Cave
Tubing
Learn about flora and fauna as your guide
leads you on a 30-40 minute hike along
a nature trail on your way to the Under-
world— known by the Maya as ‘Xibalba.’
Strap on your headlamp, sit on your inner
tube, and have a refreshing ride down this
wonderful cave system where you’ll be
mesmerized by natural wonders includ-
ing stalactites, stalagmites and other rock

riod, St. Herman’s Cave is now used as

Che Chem Ha Cave
An off-the-beaten path destination locat-
ed about 16 miles from San Ignacio Town.
This was used as a ceremonial centre for
the ancient Maya — a civilization who
believed caves were the entrance to “Xi-
balba”, also known as the Underworld.
This cave is considered to hold the larg-
est collection of Maya pottery in Belize
and perhaps in the whole world.

DURATION: 5 Hours

                                            Begin your journey with a 45-minute
                                            hike through the jungle where you will
                                            enjoy the natural surroundings before

                                            terfalls. Climb and conquer these natu-
                                            ral formations using a rappel rope and

Forest Reserve
This forest reserve is a 300-square mile
area where you will find a scenic com-
bination of cool pine forest, tumbling
waterfalls, lush river valleys, and nu-
merous cave formations.

During this tour you will visit a va-
riety of places including the Rio Frio
Cave, Rio on Pools, Big Rock Falls,
and the breathtaking Hidden Valley
Falls—a narrow chute of water falling
over 1,000 feet.

Horseback Riding
                                           This half-day horseback riding tour
