From The Supervisor…
Here we are once again heading into a new year. On the development front, Waterford had a very
productive year in 2017 which will see carryover into 2018 as well. The economy is ticking upward and
with the joint cooperation of our Township Board of Trustees, Team Waterford, our residents, local
business owners, future investors, and the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce, the year ahead is
surely a year I’m looking forward to sharing with the community.
My family has been in Waterford Township since 1925. This is home to all of us. The work we do now
will benefit our community far into the future. If that doesn’t excite you, I don’t know what will!

Established in 1951 the Waterford Parks and Recreation Department promotes health and
wellness for all ages. With 17 parks and facilities spanning over 850 acres the department
protects and preserves green space and hosts a variety of events that bring residents
together, strengthening community image and sense of place.
The athletic fields are bustling with athletes young and old and you can find nature lovers
strolling the trails of the Drayton Plains Nature center all year-round. If you’ve ever wanted to know what life on the farm is like, visit
Hess-Hathaway Park, the USDA Licensed Animal Exhibit Farm complete with the All Kids Playground. The Waterford Recreation
Center houses indoor recreation programs and events and is the go to place if you want to get the BEST homemade Apple Pie in
October when the Golden Age Club volunteers make over 1,200 pies in one week during this annual fundraiser.
