     Programme Overview
     This programme aims to enable students to develop their
     comprehensive understanding of the scope and demands of
     the practice of Jewellery and Metalwork. It will provide a strong
     grounding in both traditional hand skills and evolving modern
     technologies. The underlying focus of the programme is on
     creative practice in the demanding vocation of Jewellery and
     Metalwork. In addition, it will provide an opportunity to develop
     students’ potential as creative practitioners and prepare them
     for a subsequent career within Jewellery and Metalwork and
     other closely associated design disciplines.
     The programme will encourage students to experiment, innovate
     and explore a range of precious and non-precious metals
     and other materials available to them as designer makers.
     Drawing, sketching, model making, prototyping, photography,
     digital design and live projects all form an important part of the
     programme.
     This programme will help students develop and understand their
