Culture Ireland creates and supports opportunities for Irish
Digital Networking Event on the Fringe Connect Platform
artists and companies to present their work at international
Meet the Irish artists presenting work at this year’s Fringe. festivals, venues, showcases and arts markets including

Venice Art and Architecture Biennales, WOMEX World Music

Over the last 18 months, Culture Ireland has continued its
promotion of Irish arts globally, mainly in the digital realm,
supporting Irish artists to present virtually at international
festivals and venues and through special initiatives such as
Ireland Performs and SEODA.
As travel restrictions are lifted, Culture Ireland will return to
providing grants for live touring opportunities as well as online
performances, both in partnership with international promoters.

Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival
MEDICINE
John Kane sits on a hospital trolley. Very shortly, a giant
lobster, two women called Mary, a very old man and a jazz
percussionist arrive. Then everything starts.
Written and Directed by Enda Walsh Medicine is a dark and frequently absurdist work that shatters
the boundary between cast and audience. It is a devastatingly
funny and moving meditation on how, for decades, we have
treated those we have called ‘mentally ill’.
Featuring a sensational cast – Clare Barrett, Aoife Duffin
and Domhnall Gleeson, with drummer, Seán Carpio – Enda
Walsh once again shines a light on the darkest corners of our
collective stories.
Medicine is presented by Edinburgh International Festival in association with the
Traverse Theatre. Developed with the support of the National Theatre, London.

AFLOAT
The climate apocalypse has hit. Dublin is completely
underwater. Best friends Bláthnaid and Debs are the sole
survivors, living on the top floor of Liberty Hall. With only

the storms and reminiscing over the last days of Dublin. Debs
looks to the future, but Bláthnaid is tormented by guilt. Why
were they blind to the wave that was coming? And can they
salvage a future from the wreckage? Afloat explores loss,
sisterhood, and climate anxiety.

Acclaimed Irish comedian Tadhg Hickey brings you his weird
and wonderful part theatre, part stand-up comedy show, In
OUT THE
One Eye, Out The Other. The show tells the story of Feargal,
the downtrodden but cheery man who fulfilled his lifelong
dream of becoming an alcoholic. Using the Catholic calendar

as a roadmap, Feargal leads us on a surreal and hilarious
journey with many poignant twists in the hope of arriving at a
sort of light at the end of the tunnel for the ‘bright man’.
Writer/Performer Tadhg Hickey The show is loosely based on Tadhg’s own journey with
Director/Dramaturg John McCarthy alcoholism and has had Irish audiences – including many
who’ve been affected by alcoholism – flocking to the show. In
