COVID 19 Hunt Test Information
These guidelines may be altered or amended before the test, as per current PHO
recommendations.
• Parking - Please leave more space between your vehicles, within reason.
• All participants need to bring ALL their own supplies.
• Please remove your own garbage. There will not be a garbage bin.
• Practice social distancing. Maintain a MINIMUM of 2 meters distance between
you and other participants, at all times. Don’t be offended if someone reminds
you to step back! Be mindful when speaking to others.
• We will have wash stations near the running lines for each stake, but please
bring your own water and soap and hand sanitizer, for your convenience.
• All judges, workers and handlers should use proper hand washing, be conscious
of respiratory etiquette and avoid borrowing others equipment.
• You are welcome to wear a mask. Masks are our best line of defense against
COVID 19. Masks may be removed at the line. The judges will ensure that they
are well back of the handler, when the whistle or duck calls are being used.
• Do not shake hands or give hugs!
• There will be a designated area for airing your dogs. Please pick up after your
dog, especially in any parking areas or along the road where the public walks.
There will be moving vehicles, so please keep your dogs on leash.
• Please avoid petting other people’s dogs.
• There will be a designated area for the gallery. Please maintain the 2 meters
distance from anyone who is not in your household or in your social bubble.
• If you have any questions, they must be directed to the Marshal. Please do not
come to talk to the judges at the line.
• While the test dog is running, please be very conscious of not crowding the line.
Individually, you can come up to the running line to look at the test. Please wait
your turn and do not move to the line until the previous person is over 2 meters
away.
• Please bring your own duck calls, for use at the line. Absolutely no sharing.
• The handlers will place the bird in a pail or on a bird rack. Judges will not take
them from the handlers. The judge will check the condition of each bird, after the
handler has left the line.
• If you are Marshalling, or might be gunning, please bring all your own supplies,
such as radios, ear protection, pistols (209 shot will be supplied). Please do not
share.
• Please be sure to pick up and take ALL your belongings at the end of the day. It
is imperative that personal items not be left behind.

4PARTICIPANTS AND SPECTATORS
The Pacific Rim Hunting Retrieving Club would like to welcome you to our
licensed CKC Hunt Test. Your support is truly appreciated. While on the Hunt Test
Grounds please observe the following:
• Please do not applaud until the competing dog has finished working and been
excused by the judges.
• While the dogs are under judgment, please refrain from loud talking and
excessive motion. This includes small children.
• Spectators must remain in the area designated by the Marshall. Participants
should make their presence known to the Marshall and proceed to the
designated holding blind as directed by the Marshall.
• Please do not wear white or very light clothing in the gallery.
• Please do not bring visiting dogs or bitches in season onto the Hunt Test
grounds.
• Participating dogs must be kept on leash except when getting ready to run or
under judgment. No training is allowed on the Hunt Test grounds and dogs
should be exercised well behind the line (away from the working area).
Your co-operation and support is greatly appreciated.
5JUNIOR HUNT TEST
Judges score the dogs on:
(a) the evaluation of a dog’s abilities, including marking (memory), style,
perseverance and trainability and
(b) to a relatively greater degree in Senior and Master Hunting Tests to their
trainability as evidence in steadiness, control, response and delivery.
To receive the CKC Junior Hunt title, a dog must qualify in three (3) CKC Junior Hunt
Tests.
Minimum Requirements
Dogs shall be tested in a minimum of four (4) situations:
• Two (2) Single Land Marks
• Two (2) Single Water Marks
• Dogs must retrieve to hand
• Dogs need not be steady, but must be under control. Dogs may gently be
restrained
SENIOR HUNT TEST
Judges score the dogs on:
(a) the evaluation of a dog’s abilities, including marking (memory), style,
perseverance and trainability and
(b) to a relatively greater degree in Senior and Master Hunting Tests to their
trainability as evidence in steadiness, control, response and delivery.
To receive a CKC Senior Hunt title, a dog must qualify in five (5) CKC Senior Hunt
Tests. In the case of a dog, which has earned a CKC Junior Hunting title, a dog must
qualify for four (4) CKC Senior Hunting Tests.
Minimum Requirements
Dogs shall be tested in a minimum of Five (5) situations
• One (1) Double Land Mark
• One (1) Double Water Mark
• One Land Blind
6• One Water Blind (which may be run as a double blind)
• Upland test
• Diversion Shot shall be used
• Diversion Birds shall not be used
• Dogs must retrieve to hand
• Should be steady
• At least one Honour
MASTER HUNT TEST
Judges score the dogs on:
(a) the evaluation of a dog’s abilities, including marking (memory), style,
perseverance and trainability and
(b) to a relatively greater degree in Senior and Master Hunting Tests to their
trainability as evidence in steadiness, control, response and delivery.
To receive a CKC Master Hunt title, a dog must qualify six (6) CKC Master Hunt Tests.
In the case of a dog which has earned a CKC Senior Hunt title, a dog must qualify in
five (5) CKC Hunt tests.
Minimum Requirements
Dogs shall be tested in a minimum of five (5) situations; there will be at least three (3)
series:
• Multiple Land Marks
• Multiple Water Marks
• Upland Hunting Test
• Land Blind(s)
• Water Blind(s)
• Diversion bird and/or diversion shot must be used at least once
• Dogs must retrieve to hand
• Steadiness required
• At least one (1) honour

PRHRC Member Suzi Beber, the founder of the Smiling Blue
Skies Cancer Fund, has generously supported and donated to our
club for many years. Several of us have personally experienced Suzi’s
incredible heart and guidance, including a shoulder to cry on, as we
wade through cancer treatment options for our own dogs. The
PRHRC would like to honour Suzi, by supporting the Fund she
created and the hope it offers for our dogs.
Cancer is the most frequent cause of death in dogs. In loving our dogs,
we want the very best for them, in health, and in sickness. Donations to
The Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund supports OVC's quest to
find more and better ways to deal with and understand canine cancers. All donations made online or at our Hunt
Test, will be used for the study of new cancer diagnostics and treatments for all companion animals through Pet
Trust at the Ontario Veterinary College. Not only will our pets benefit from this contribution, but also the
knowledge gained will be shared with human research, for the good of us all.
