Welcome Address & Declaration of
 Convocation Open by Trustee Secretary

Dr S. D. Gupta, Trustee-IIHMR Society declared the
Convocation open and facilitated the proceedings. In his
opening remark, Dr. Gupta highlighted the growth of
IIHMR and its contribution to various national and global
health scenes. He gave useful tips to the graduating
batch in bringing the knowledge acquired during the
course into result-oriented actions. He mentioned that
so far four thousand graduates have passed out of
IIHMR and have reached key leadership positions in
various national and international organizations and
contributing to the healthcare industry. He said that
IIHMR is proud of its students and they have
transformed management systems in hospitals and
health systems in our country. Dr. S.D Gupta emphasized
on the importance of good communication skills in the
digital era. He congratulated the students and suggested
them to work with handwork, integrity and utmost
dedication.

Institute Report by Director

Dr. Usha Manjunath, Director-IIHMR Bangalore
presented the Institute’s report. Since the
inception, IIHMR Bangalore has focused on
research, education, and training. Dr Usha
shared the profile of all the students and their
placement organizations. She announced the
starting    of    the      new     specialization
“Pharmaceutical Management” at the campus
and the approval of additional seats from 60 to
120 from this year. Dr. Usha congratulated the
graduating batch and conveyed her best wishes

Address by Special Guest

Dr. Devi Shetty, Founder & Chairman, Narayana
Health, the Special Guest, gave his insights on
healthcare becoming safer, affordable and accessible to
everyone with the collective support of whole human
resources in the Indian healthcare sector. The
healthcare industry will be driving the economy in the
21st century, currently, it is over 8 trillion dollars
industry and the industry requires smart managers in
delivering safe, affordable and accessible health care.
Digital technology will disrupt the way healthcare is
delivered. He wishes to see the doctors and other
healthcare personnel should be free from pen and
paper for safer healthcare

Convocation Address by Chief Guest
Dr. Nagendra Swamy S.C, Foudner- Chairman, Medisync Health
Management Services, the Chief Guest for the occasion, delivered
the convocation address. He highlighted the key points of
advancement in technology and collaboration healthcare changing
the paradigm for futures to come. The need for professional
management in healthcare is immense and the technology will
drive the future of healthcare. He welcomed the approval of the
telemedicine by the government of India. Innovation and research
are going to be the driving factor. He highlighted the concerns
about the challenges of both infectious and self- imposed non-
infectious diseases among the people. Telemedicine and home
healthcare are going to be major changes in the next decade, will
going to change the way healthcare is being practiced. Technology
participation in healthcare will become a game-changer. He
advised the graduating students to focus on high-end secondary
care and to make healthcare accessible and affordable. He
suggested the graduates to accept the sacrifices in personal life as
healthcare works 24x7. He also suggested maintaining patient
confidentiality in view of digital platforms.

Convocation Address Guest of Honour
   Mr Anil Kumar Kalicharan, Senior Manager and
   Management Consultant, Accenture, Georgia, USA,
   the Guest of Honour, congratulated the graduating
   students and highlighted the importance of trained
   healthcare managers in the healthcare sector in India.
   He also shared his personal experience in the field of
   healthcare and how he followed his heart and dreams.
   He advised the batch with practical tips to overcome
   the issues that they may face while executing their
   responsibility as healthcare managers. His message
   focused on moral compass and values to always
   remember throughout life and advised the graduates
   to follow their passion in life.

SHRI V.P. AGARWAL GOLD MEDAL

                             Our Inspiration.. Shri VP Agarwal
                             Late Shri V.P. Agarwal was born in 1947. He was the first
                             President of the Management Board of the Indian Institute
                             of Health Management Research, Jaipur. He was also the
                             Management Director of TCI and Bhoruka Group (Textile
                             Division).
                             A Gold Medal is awarded every year in memory of Shri
                             V.P. Agarwal to a student of PGDM whose overall
                             Academic Performance in each stream is outstanding and
Shri V P Agarwal             whose conduct and behavior is exemplary.
