5 reasons you should
cheer with Fury
1
5
It’s a fun, dynamic sport that encourages
confidence and team work.
Well, you might think cheerleading is all about pom-poms and high kicks, but you’d be
wrong. Cheerleading is a physically demanding, team-based sport that combines gymnastics
tumbling, stunting and dancing. And because it is a performance sport, it builds self-esteem
and confidence while keeping you fit and having fun.
2 Make life-long friendships as part of
our Fury Family
Getting involved in a sport with like-minded friends will give your child a positive social network.
We place emphasis on our ‘Fury Family’, with team bonding between teams, parents and staff
being at the forefront of everything we do. We demand a positive learning environment from
the top down and work hard to create a ‘safe place’ for our athletes to train. So, with all the
team bonding we do, you’ll be sure to make life-long friendships and memories.
3 Fury has the most experienced staff under one
roof in Western Australia!
West Coast Fury proudly boasts WA’s most qualified and experienced coaching team under one
roof. Every one of our senior coaches has represented Australia multiple times, at numerous
National and International events, including the World Championships. Our dedicated, passionate
coaches display a high level of professionalism in and out the gym. With our collaborative approach
to coaching, our staff work together across the whole club to bring the best out of each team.
Plus, they are all accredited, have their Working with Children cards, and First Aid qualifications.
4 We have a first-class facility and program
Our home ‘Fort Fury’ is one of the largest and best equipped in Western Australia. We have two
‘worlds’ floors, a tumble zone with a 10metre tumble trampoline and 15metre air track! Plus, a
stretch area and video playback to review training and competition results.
Fury hosts International guest coaches for exciting choreography, coaches education and
team motivation throughout the year. You’ll have opportunities to compete at National and
International competitions, at all levels.
5
We have the right team for you
We are a large club of over 300 athletes, so guarantee we’ll have the right team for you! We
cater for beginners through to elite cheerleaders, ranging from ages 3yrs to adult.
Our organised, planned training sessions ensure a fun, results-driven class, every class. And
regular staff meetings and parent communication ensures each team’s goals are met throughout
the season. Our club success is based on the belief that ALL teams are equally important from
our beginner lower levels through to our high-level, elite World’s focused teams.

Competitive Cheerleading
We specialise in All Star Competitive Cheerleading teams, where athletes
compete in fun competitions throughout the year to showcase their high-energy
routine. By joining a team, you’ll learn discipline, team work, commitment,
dedication and passion, plus you’ll make life-long friends and memories to cherish
forever. All this, while getting fit and having fun!
As we are a large club of over 300 athletes, we can guarantee that we’ll have
the right team for you! We cater for beginners through to elite cheerleaders,
and range from ages 3yrs to adult.
All Star Training Commitment
Competitive cheerleading is a year-round sport. West Coast Fury requires athletes to attend every
training session throughout the year to give each team the best opportunity to succeed and achieve their
goals. All Star athletes will be required to train for 40 weeks of the year during school terms only, as below:
Term 1 Gym Open Days: Monday to Friday
At West Coast Fury, we know family time is precious so we proudly run something we call
‘Family-Friendly Summer Sundays’! For Term 1, any teams that are scheduled for Sunday training
will be moved to a mid-week training day, plus all teams will train 30 minutes less per week.
We hope this gives our Fury families more fun-in-the-sun weekends away. Plus, this way, our
teams avoid training during the heat of the day during the Summer months.
Term 2-4 Gym Open Days: Sunday to Friday
To best prepare for competitions, we extend training to include Sunday’s. This ensures each
team has adequate time and floor space for training.

FAQ’s
What’s the difference between Recreational cheer and All Star cheer?
We specialise in All Star competition teams, but for those unable to commit to a competitive program,
we offer termly classes in our Recreational ‘just-for-fun’ program. Recreational teams do NOT compete.
Check out our ‘Choose Your Commitment Level’ map on page 2.
If I join an All Star team, do I have to stay on the team for the year?
Yes, competitive cheerleading is a unique sport where the annual team routine is choreographed around
each individual’s skills and abilities. Each team member plays a specific, unique role in the team. As such,
training commitment is vital throughout the year. To give each team and each athlete the best opportunity
to succeed and achieve their goals, All Star teams will be required to train year-round. Our competitions
run between June and November. But don’t worry, Fury doesn’t hold team training during the school holidays
so you’ll have plenty of downtime.
10I’m confused about All Star and All Star Black, can you explain it further?
Sure. Both are competitive streams of cheerleading and are equally important to us here at Fury,
however All Star Black requires a higher commitment as these teams will:
a) travel to Nationals or maybe even International events
b) be required to do compulsory tumbling classes for Term 1, 2 and 3
c) compete at additional competitions throughout the year
See page 3 for a snapshot summary.
If I choose All Star and am a flyer, do I have to join a Flyer Focus class?
Yes, being a ‘flyer’ is a privileged position as being the top person of a stunt means you are more visible.
Athletes need to learn a unique set of skills including performance. These classes can be booked each
term at a time to suit you and will be invoiced termly. Easy.
Do I have to attend all competitions?
Yes, you must attend ALL events & competitions. You’ll find these dates in your Letter of Offer emailed to
you before you join a team. Here at Fury, we like to be organised; so you’ll have all competition dates
before the year even begins! If you are unable to attend a competition, you will need to have your absence
approved prior joining your new team. Finding replacements is extremely difficult and unfair on the team.
What days will I train in 2019?
All weekly training sessions and times will be provided to you in your Letter of Offer (to be emailed to you
from Tuesday 4th December). Your weekly commitment can be found on page 4.
When will I find out which team I was placed on?
Firstly, everyone makes a team at Fury!
Once you attend Team Placements or submit your Re-Enrolment Form, we’ll send you a Letter of Offer to join
a Fury team the week commencing the 3rd of December. You’ll then need to attend Registration Day to
secure your place on a Fury team for 2019.
What happens if I can’t attend Team Placement day?
At West Coast Fury, we keep our teams open all year round. It’s never too late to join a team!
It’s best to join at the start of the year, but if you can’t make our Team Placement day, simply contact us
to book a Free Trial Class or suitable assessment time. After which, we’ll send you a Letter of Offer, just like
everyone else. Easy!
What costs am I committing to?
When it comes to managing money, we don’t like surprises! Our costs (your required financial commitments)
are listed out on page 5 for All Star, page 7 for Recreational and page 8 & 9 for Additional Classes.
Some costs are ballparks, but will allow you to consider your budget prior to committing to a team.
Do you have payment plans?
Yes, of course! We offer annual, termly and monthly plans. See page 5 for details and our Payment Policy
on our website. Plus, you can contact Sharron (our Office Manager) at reception with any specific questions.
Do I still pay for missed classes?
Yes, you do. We calculate your costs on annual requirements, not per hour or per lesson.
What if I want to cheer on more than one team; do you allow cross-overs?
Yes, we do. Some of our athletes love cheer so much they want to be on two teams. You’ll need to express
your interest on your Re-Enrolment Form or at Team Placements. We’ll allow you to cross over down one
level. The cost is 25% of the lower team for training fees. Plus competition cross over fees and any
uniform requirements.
Do I have team training during school holidays?
Nope, athletes enjoy a well deserved break. However, most of our athletes love training so we offer optional
holiday classes for fun and fitness, but team training only trains during the school term. Exception: touring
teams that have competitions during the school holidays or shortly after – but you’ll know well in advance.
Do I need to attend classes if I’m sick or injured?
Yes please. Unless you are contagious (in that case, please stay home and keep those nasty germs away).
Otherwise, we expect you to attend to watch for any changes made to the routine. Plus this ensures the
athlete remains included and engaged with their team.
If I decide to discontinue any classes, will I get a refund?
No, we don’t offer refunds. Check our Payment Policy at www.westcoastfury.com.au for full details.
When will I know if I’ve been invited to join a touring team?
By expressing your interest in the All Star Black program, we’ll know you are keen to tour. Touring invitations
will be sent along with your Letter for Offer, which we’ll email to you from week commencing 3rd December.
In this invitation, you’ll receive details on the tour, plus ballpark costs so you can be best prepared.
What happens if I get invited on a team but the days don’t suit me?
No problem, just let us know so we can offer you a second placement. We’ll try our best to find a team to suit you.
