INFORMATION PACKET
Information Package – ATHENS 2018 November Session - Paris 1/6ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE
• Arrival date: we expect students on Saturday, November 17 (morning)
• Starting time and place: Saturday, November 17 at 14:00 at MINES ParisTech
(60 Bd St Michel, Paris 75006, métro Luxembourg or bus n° 38). At this Opening
Session, you will be asked to contribute to the costs of the Social and Cultural
activities organised in Paris by paying the European Dimension fee of 40 €.
• Termination date and time: Saturday, November 24 in the morning
(Farewell party on Friday night. No activity on Saturday morning)
WI-FI
EDUROAM is the roaming access service available in all ATHENS institutions. It gives you
Internet connectivity whether you’re studying or working at another institution.
Don’t forget to connect your phone, tablet, or laptop BEFORE leaving your home
university. Then, there’s no need to request special accounts or borrow other people’s IDs – just
activate your device and you should be online.
HOUSING
If you have requested housing in Paris, a bed will have been booked for you for the length of the
Session (7 nights) in Résidence Kellermann/CISP (Centre international de séjour de Paris)
• Direction : 17 Boulevard Kellermann, 75013 Paris
• Dates : The room is booked from the night of Saturday, November 17 to the morning of
Saturday, November 24 = 7 nights. We cannot reserve rooms before or after these dates.
• Price / pers. / night (including breakfast): 35€
• Type of room: 2 to 3 students in a room
• Payment : (in euros) Cash, Check, ANCV coupons, Credit card (debit card, Visa, Eurocard
and Mastercard)
Dates and prices are non-negotiable. It is a package to take or leave.
Please note Résidence Kellermann’s Internal Reglementation :
• NO WIFI in the rooms but ONLY in the lobby (from 8:00 to 22:30)
This is not very convenient but you are aware of that before coming, so up to you to
choose another place to stay…
• Check in from 2:00 pm to 1:30 am
• Check out at 10 am
• You will be assigned to a room by ParisTech. Due to the high number of participants, you

• In order to have access to the room, you must pay for their entire stay on arrival (by cash
or credit card)
• Given the number of students to be housed, it will not be possible to change rooms after
arrival
• Breakfast from 7 to 9 :30 am
• There is no cloakroom service to leave your personal belongings because of the state of
emergency still applicable in France
CANCELLATION POLICY
• Cancellation of your room reservation is possible until October 25 with no extra cost.
• After October 25, you will be required to pay the entire price of the room.

COURSES (RDV 1st Day)
ParisTech is a consortium of 10 Graduate Schools of Engineering & Science, which are
among the most prestigious French Graduate Schools. During the November ATHENS session,
courses are taught in seven of them.
Don’t forget to check where is located the Parisian institution where you are going to!

Participation in European Dimension Activities is mandatory (and fun)!

TRANSPORTATION
• You can buy travel tickets in any Métro or/and RER station in an automated terminal
(cash/credit card).
• A ticket is valid for one ride only till you get out of the Métro/RER station and can’t be
combined with Trams/Buses.
• To prepare for your rides, refer to SNCF Transilien Route planner and / or download the
Mobile application “RATP” and search for “fastest” connection from “my location” even
to “destination address”.
Price list :
• A package of 10 tickets Inner-Paris (zones 1 & 2) costs 14,90 €. Same tickets can be
used for buses/trams (same price ticket, one ride only)
• A weekly travel pass called “Navigo Découverte” can also be bought in certain Métro
and/or RER station (see information here). The price of the pass itself is 5 €. You can then
pay a flat rate of 22,80 € for an unlimited number of rides from zone 1 to zone 5 (that is,
anywhere between Paris, ENPC champs-sur Marne and ENSTA ParisTech).
• For sports people! Bike-sharing system (VELIB’) : Tickets can be bought at any of 1800
stations in the city. 1,70€ for 24-hours ticket or 8€ for 7-days ticket. First 30 min of each
rent is free. Mobile application “Vélib” helps you locate bike stations and available
number of bikes. For each ticket your credit card is charged €150, which is returned few
days after ticket expiration. Follow the instructions at the station carefully.
