Emily Behrmann, General Manager for the series branded Midwest

the upcoming fall season featuring vital artists from
around the world and around the corner. High res photos with
IDs can be found here.

“It’s been a long time coming, but we are ready
to welcome audiences back,” Behrmann stated. “Over the past 15
months, staff has been working remotely, staying connected and
innovating with fellow artists, planning for the day where we
can safely come back to theatres. We are so pleased to
share the fall lineup of in-person performances!”

A short list of performances:

On Sept. 12, Larry Carlton – Steely Dan/’78 Album will perform
in Yardley Hall. Be profoundly moved by one of the most
influential, prolific, and original guitarists of the past
four decades. Four-time Grammy winner mesmerizes
audiences with his blues and jazz roots and crossover
pop/rock sensibility.

Running Sep. 17 and 18, New
Dance Partners—The Ultimate Collaboration. This
unique partnership, featuring some of the most interesting and
exciting local dance companies and artists presenting original
works, will continue in Yardley Hall. Four choreographers and
four companies confirmed to date include Sidra Bell working
with Owen/Cox Dance Group, Carolyn Dorfman working with
Störling Dance Theatre, Roni Koresh working with
Wylliams/Henry Contemporary
Dance Company and Irene Rodriguez working with Kansas City
Ballet.

On Oct. 24, Yesterday and Today: The Interactive Beatles
Experience will bring a one-of-a-kind tribute to Yardley
Hall. This all-request show does away with the wigs, costumes,
and fake accents. Instead, brothers Billy, Matthew and Ryan
McGuigan will recreate the energy and spirit of the world’s
most popular band, connecting with audiences and playing the
music they want to hear.

Saturday, Nov. 6, Darlene Love will delight
audiences with favorites including “He’s a Rebel,” “A Fine,
Fine Boy,” “Chapel of Love,” “Wait ‘til My Bobby Gets
Home,” “Not Too Young to Get Married” and the seasonal classic
“(Christmas) Baby Please Come Home.” Love will also sing songs
from her latest release “Introducing
Darlene Love” (produced by Little Steven VanZandt and
including new songs by Linda Perry, Elvis Costello, and
Bruce Springsteen).

On Dec.4, Fiesta Navidad, Mariachi Los Camperos, will perform
in Yardley Hall. A holiday musical fiesta perfect
for the entire family. You will love this celebration
of Mexican and Latin-inspired holiday songs. Always an
explosion of music and color, Mariachi Los Camperos is known
for moving mariachi music out of the cantinas and into
the concert halls of America.

On Dec. 5, Ana Gasteyer will ring in the holiday season with
her “Sugar & Booze” tour, a collection of original and classic
holiday songs with Ana’s modern and comedic touch. Known
for her celebrated television work that includes SNL, Gasteyer
starred in FOX’s A Christmas Story Live! as Mrs. Schwartz
and as Principle McGee in FOX’s hit
live broadcast of Grease. On stage, Gasteyer starred as
Elphaba in Wicked for both the Broadway and Chicago
productions and in 2018 she performed as Miss Hannigan
in Annie at The Hollywood Bowl. Audiences will love Ana’s
light-hearted take on the season!

This year Mesner Puppet Theater will be MTC’s Artists in
Residence. Running Dec. 4 and 5, the Kansas City-based
organization will remount The Snowy Day and other Stories
by Ezra Jack Keats. Known for their inventive puppetry, MPT
will bring Keats’ stories to life in a collection
that features Whistle for Willie, Goggles!, A Letter to
Amy and The Snowy Day. In May of 2022, Mesner Puppets will
bring In the Workshop from the screen to the stage with a
live adaptation of their digital series of the same name. Both
productions will engage audiences of all ages incorporating
humor and heart in a uniquely Mesner fashion.

About Midwest Center, Johnson County Community College

The Midwest Trust Center is Johnson County’s performing arts
center. Early on, the founders of Johnson County Community
College (JCCC) dreamed of building a world-class performing
arts venue in Johnson County, Kansas. In 1990, that dream
was realized, and the center soon became a cultural hub for
the rapidly growing county. The Midwest Trust Center’s growth
parallels that of Johnson County, expanding from 50 events
the first season to around 150 annually today. Events
include Midwest Trust Center Series, the annual series of
around 25 events presented by JCCC that feature professional,
internationally known artists in a wide variety of genres;
academic branches of JCCC; and community groups who rent
the space.

In 2020 Johnson County Community College accepted a $1,000,000
donation intended to provide an ongoing
endowment to support the College’s Performing Arts Series. The
se funds will also provide scholarships for students studying
creative arts
at JCCC. As a feature of the donation, the center now
bears the name Midwest Trust Center, a local company founded
by Brad Bergman. The donors Brad and Libby Bergman are long-
time supporters of the College, having co-
chaired the JCCC Foundation’s annual Some Enchanted Evening
Gala – the largest single fundraising event
for student scholarships. Brad has also served as Chair
of the JCCC Foundation Board of
Directors. The Bergmans have been consistent supporters of doz
ens of activities at JCCC. They have four children,
each of whom has benefited from classes taught at the College.

Since 2000, with the development of
the Midwest Trust Center Arts Education program, the Midwest
Trust Center also addresses cultural and art-related program
needs in K-12 education. The MTC Arts Education programs
include school performances at the Midwest Trust Center,
and engagement activities with artists performing in schools.
Master classes, lecture/demonstrations, workshops and
other opportunities for interaction with students happen
throughout the year. MTC Arts Education also offers support
materials for programs, study guides, concert previews, plus
professional development – creative skills workshops and
curriculum- building seminars for teachers in arts
integration.

The MTC Arts Education had a leadership role in the re-
establishment of the Kansas Alliance for Arts Education, and
in 2014 was named a Kennedy Center Partners in Education site,
teamed with the Shawnee Mission School District. An expansion
of the Kennedy Center Partnership occurred in 2018 with the
addition of the Liberty Schools, and again in 2019, adding
Kansas City Young Audiences, making it one of two cross-state
Kennedy Center Partnerships in the US. MTC Arts Ed is the only
Kennedy Center Partner in the state of Kansas.
