Tēnā koutou katoa
Mid term break has arrived and I’m sure all students and
teachers are looking forward to a while deserved break. It
has been a very busy and productive half a year for
everyone.
Finally, we would like to thank you all for your
continuous support so far this year. We wish you all a
safe and relaxing holiday break and see you all in Term
3.
Mā te atua e manaaki, e tiaki i a koutou katoa i ngā rā

Covid 19 Level 1 update
Next term, we will be looking at returning back to our
normal break times with measures in place. We are still
encouraging personal hygiene and drinking fountains will
be in operation. However we are mindful that there are
still cases in New Zealand and we will be ready and
prepared to take action if needed.
Please remember for next term:
      - If your child is sick or unwell, please keep them
at home and contact the school.
      - All visitors, students and teachers are expected
to sanitize their hands when entering and exiting
          classrooms and buildings.

Imoko
The imoko team is still waiting for the “OK” from the
DHB to start throat swabbing at school. If your child
has a sore throat, you can take him/her to the Far
North Pharmacy, without an appointment, where
iMoko staff will check their throat and prescribe
antibiotics without swabbing, with your consent, if
they meet the following criteria;
    ● Maori or Pacific decent
    ● Family history of rheumatic fever
    ● Child has history of positive strep throat
    ● Child has family members with history of
        positive strep throat

If any children meet any of the criteria and have a
sore throat, please encourage whanau to come see
the iMOKO team at Far North Pharmacy.

Ministry of Education Support
“Are you worried about your child’s learning, or their
behaviour at their school or early childhood centre?
• Does your child have difficulty speaking,
hearing or learning?
• Managing their behaviour or getting on with
others?
• Seeing properly, or have other unmet needs or
differences that set them apart from others?
These things can affect their progress and wellbeing.
Te Manawa Tahi is a learning support hub, held at the
school, where you can come and talk to education
professionals (RTLBs, Learning Support) about your
child’s learning needs. It is a free service.
Look for our flag flying outside the school on 13
August 2020 from 9:30am to 12:00pm.
All are welcome, no appointment needed.
Check out our Facebook Page “Te Manawa Tahi o Te
Hiku” or call us on 0800 5248 4256 to talk.
