How to get started

Get a referral from Jobcenter Aarhus by:
Ø Going there: Værkmestergade 3-5, 1. sal
Ø Filling in a form and mailing it to:
   jobcenter@aarhus.dk (Att. Job og Integration,
   Team 4)
Ø Contacting the Jobcenter at ICS,
   Nordhavnsgade, Thursdays 1 pm. to 5
   pm.Fridays 9 am. to 1 pm.

Ø   Use the language whenever..!
Ø   Do not be shy- you learn from your mistakes!
Ø   Insist on people talking Danish to you!
Ø   Make agreements on when to speak Danish (with spouse
     maybe 1 hour every 2. day)!
Ø   Listen to Danish TV!
Ø   Listen on the bus!
Ø   Be aware of signs , fx at the supermarket!
Ø   Read free newspapers!
Ø   Write down new words, expressions! (Take it to class and ask
     teacher…)
Ø   Use post-it!
Ø   Use free sites on Internet
Ø   Get a mentor!
Ø   Takes notes and reflect about your progress!
