Dear Applicant

We are here to change the world. And I hope you are too.

marketeer, a fundraiser, a social worker, or a data processor,
at Hope and Homes for Children we all play a crucial part in ensuring children can grow up in families,
not orphanages.

The organisation is at an exciting point in our story - we are growing, we are developing new and exciting
partnerships with global brands like YouTube, and we are working on an ever-increasing number of
innovative new projects and campaigns. All with the purpose of helping make sure all children can have
the love of a family.

As our Marketing Manager in this new role, you will manage the planning and implementation of our
marketing activity. You will be a key member of the Brand & Marketing team, which is at the heart of the
organisation in the UK. To be successful in this role, you will need strong planning and project
management skills, combined with experience of working in similar marketing roles. You will also have
excellent communication skills, the commitment and drive to deliver against deadlines, a can-do attitude,
and a genuine passion for our work. Finally, you may have some experience of line management, but
this is not an essential and we will provide training as part of your career development.

In return, we will provide you with learning and development opportunities and generous flexible working
practices. You will become part of a friendly and collaborative team who are proud of the excellent work
we produce. You will also be part of a culture of owning and driving your own performance
demonstrated by our recent staff survey in which we scored over 90% on commitment and motivation.
Most of all, you will be part of an organisation which knows how to celebrate and have fun.

love to hear from you if you feel inspired by what we do and have the experience and skills to help
make the world a better place.

Best wishes

Steve Coffey

About Hope and Homes for Children

Every child wants a safe, loving family to grow up in. But over 8million children, confined to orphanages
and other forms of institutional care around the world are being denied this, with often catastrophic
effects.

Orphanages do not protect children. They harm them. Children in orphanages are often subject to high
levels of abuse and neglect. Without family to care for them, or friends to play alongside they live in a

Orphanages deny children their voice, giving them no say or control over the decisions that affect them.
Over 80% of the children confined to orphanages today are not orphans. They have at least one living
parent or relative. With the right support, we can give children what they want and need most - a stable,
loving family.

Family-based care has been proven to provide far better outcomes for children and communities and is
more cost effective. With the right support children who live in orphanages can be safely and successfully
returned to their birth families; they can join loving foster families or, if they are old enough, they can be
supported to live independently.

Hope and Homes for Children is recognised as a global expert in the field of deinstitutionalisation. By
closing orphanages, supporting children into loving families and preventing family break-down, we are
working towards a day where orphanages have been eliminated for good.

We know we will only realise our vision of a world in which children no longer suffer in orphanages by
working with others. Through our partnerships with national governments, civil society organisations, local
NGOs, international agencies, corporate donors and committed individuals, we are building a global
movement that will eliminate orphanages in our lifetime.

Our mission
To be the catalyst for the global elimination of institutional care of children.

Our vision
A world in which children no longer suffer institutional care.

Our ambition
To achieve our vision in our lifetime.

Joseph was born with cerebral palsy and abandoned as a baby. He was taken to an orphanage and
spent most of the first nine years of his life lying in a cot or on the floor, unable to move.

No one cuddled him, played with him or sang to him. No one believed he had a future. He was fed liquid
food through a tube. Joseph was kept physically alive, nothing more. But when Hope and Homes for
Children closed the orphanage where Joseph lived, we found a wonderful foster family to care for him.

We provided his new parents, Faith and Albert, with the
training they needed, we invested in their home to make
it suitable for Joseph and we supported them to
welcome him into their family. Today, Joseph can sit
unassisted, he can look around and eat normal food
with the rest of the family. His foster sisters have helped
him to learn to turn the pages of picture books with his
feet. Joseph has a cheeky sense of humour and he
makes his family laugh. Their nickname for him is

their needs, can lead fulfilling lives if they have the love and protection of a family.
