3After a family tragedy in early February and two national Covid lockdowns, our move to the
Vicarage in Builth Wells will finally take place on December 10th. The year 2020 excepted, we have
enjoyed twelve wonderful years in New Radnor. Right from the start we were warmly welcomed and
embraced by the community. Churches at Colva, Evancoyd, Gladestry, Llanfihangel Nant Melan and
New Radnor have been a joy and a privilege to serve and in more recent years the churches at Bleddfa
and Llangunllo have been every bit as welcoming, encouraging and rewarding. To the seven churches
and the wider communities in which they are located, Kit and I would like to extend our grateful thanks
and heartfelt gratitude for all that you have given us and taught us. But two rather trite and well worn
phrases do come to mind:- ‘all good things must come to an end’, and ‘a change is as good as a rest’.
We shall benefit from a new challenge and the churches here in the East Radnor Ministry Area will all be
richly blessed by my successor.
What is particularly challenging and frustrating about our departure however, is that opportunities for
us to say goodbye are severely curtailed by the Covid restrictions under which we are all operating. It
would be lovely to hold farewell services at each of the seven churches but that will not happen and for
very good reasons. So a letter in The Radnor will have to suffice.

16Christmas Activities
P eople from various organisations within Knighton, have come together & formed a committee, to bring some
Christmas cheer to all those living in and around Knighton. We are very excited to announce that we now have three
projects on the go:
1) Knighton Christmas Countdown
On the same principle as an Advent Calendar we will post an activity or a Christmas related demonstration for
children of all ages on our Facebook page or via Zoom daily. The countdown will be launched by the Revd’s
Petra & Kevin bringing you Zoom Nativity season 1 episode 1 (not to be missed!).
The full calendar of events is on our Knighton Christmas Countdown Facebook page.
2) Christmas Memories (Knighton Museum and KINDA)
Luggage labels (kindly donated by The Tower House Cafe) will be made available to
one and all, and special Christmas memories can be captured on the label and
Candles on the shared with others. The labels will be available from Knighton Library, & please
Christmas Tree return to Julia at The Tower House Cafe. Some labels will be distributed through
organisations and groups.
On Christmas Eve we will be placing them on the Christmas tree at the Clock Tower
(kindly donated by Prince & and Pugh) after Christmas, the labels will then for a short time be exhibited in various
locations (Churches, Library and The Comm), their final resting place will be in the archive section of Knighton
Museum.
3 Knighton Santa Hunt 202
After the huge success of the Halloween Trail Treasure Hunt, the Knighton
Santa Hunt 2020 will be running from the 19th - 24th December 2020. The
trail commences at the Cenotaph, there will be ten clues to follow and there will
be lots of prizes to give away.
