                             Also doing the rounds and highly recommended is Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell. The fictionalised
                             story of Shakespeare’s marriage and the son who died of the plague is beautifully written and
                             incredibly moving. Another title being shared is The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman,
                             a tender and humorous story of a group of old people in a care home solving murders (on a
                             Thursday obviously – the only day they can get the room).
                             Other books enjoyed by our members included:
                             Winter by Len Deighton – following the lives of a German family from 1899 to 1945 and                                                           Lisa Messenger
                             providing an historical background to several of the characters in Deighton’s nine novels about
                             the British intelligence agent Bernard Samson, who grew up in the ruins of Berlin after the                                             Painter Decorator
