Their unique role involves wide-ranging responsibilities for ensuring the coordination, communications, planning and continuity of the MDT’s work, as well as providing guidance to other members of the care team. Nurses in cancer care also play a fundamental role in the delivery and success of patient navigation programmes, by providing personalised support to patients and their caregivers throughout the cancer journey. As the role of nurses providing cancer care continues to evolve and grow in response to the increasingly complex health system and cancer care needs of patients, so will the need for greater nursing leadership.

City Cancer Challenge 4 Stella Bialous Stella Aguinaga Bialous is a native of Brazil where she completed her undergraduate nursing studies. C/Can leads a city- based partnership initiative that aims to improve access to quality cancer care in cities around the world by transforming the way stakeholders from the public and private sectors collectively design, plan, and implement cancer solutions. The approach is built on the core principle that cities can drive impact at a national level by crafting data-driven solutions with the support of a network of global, regional, and local partners that reflect an understanding of the unique local context. C/Can was launched by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) at the 2017 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. It was established as a standalone Swiss foundation in January 2019.

The programme is delivered through an online video conferencing tool. It requires a computer with a webcam, and a stable internet connection. How much commitment is required outside of the sessions?
