When the Saint Meinrad Distinguished
Alumnus Award is given posthumously to
Michael Ziemianski this August, it’s
almost guaranteed that the speaker
introducing the award winner will use the
word “service.”

Ziemianski had a distinguished career at
Saint Meinrad. A 1987 graduate of Saint
Meinrad College, he worked at Mercy
Academy in Louisville, KY, providing
retreat experiences for students. By 1989,
he was back at Saint Meinrad working in
the Development Office.

Except for an 18-month stint as director
of development at the Kentucky Center
for the Arts, Mike was devoted to Saint
Meinrad until his unexpected death in
June 2019.
