           Acropolis Museum Café & Restaurant
One of the most overlooked rooftop restaurants in Athens has got to be
the restaurant at the Acropolis Museum. It’s not that people don’t visit,
Our favourite rooftops restaurants in Athens
because they do, but often in an impromptu way as they discover this
pleasant surprise while visiting the museum.

Located on the 2nd floor of the Museum the restaurant is very spacious
and has panoramic views of the Acropolis and the Plaka.

You do not need to visit the Museum to dine at the restaurant, just collect
a ‘free’ ticket from the ticket box.

(There is also a Cafe on the ground floor of the museum but check to see if
                             it has reopened)

Cafe Avissinia

and the private room on the first floor can be booked for functions.

Europe, Cafe Avissinia also have live Bouzouki playing from June until

                       Restaurante Attalos
Not to be confused with Hotel Attalos a few blocks away this traditional
taverna is located on busy Adrianous Street which is car-free and home to
a number of excellent places to wine and dine.

Located right next to the ruins of the Ancient Agora and what used to be
Panathinaia rd, the biggest and busiest road in Ancient Athens.

This is simple food done well and in a modest but comforting environment.
Try their classic roast chicken, delicious Giouvarlakia ( meatballs in lemon
sauce) and the house Horiataki ( Greek Salad).

Our favourite rooftop bars in Athens
While most of the rooftop restaurants in Athens have also got bars there
are few more that are worth mentioning primarily for their drinking rather
than their dining experiences.

For drinks with one of the most photographed views in Athens, it’s hard to
beat the rooftop bar at A for Athens hotel. It is possible to eat here too but
it is quite intimate so is often full – be sure to book in advance.

Right next door is MS Roof Garden which is also fantastic and very lively at
night.

Across the road is 360 Cocktail bar at the top of 360 Degree hotel, and
Misafir Roof Garden and Shisha lounge and Pella Inn Rooftop Bar can be
found a little further west on Ermou Street.

Back in Pysri, the main entertainment precinct of Athens, are a number of
great bars including The Artist Rooftop and Juan Rodriguez. The latter does
not have Acropolis views but its party atmosphere more than makes up for
it.

In Syntagma GB Roof Garden at the famous Grande Bretagne Hotel has
been delighting customers for decades and the rooftop bars at Ergon
House and Electra Hotel are fantastic. It’s also worth checking out Athens
Bar Crawl which is quite new and great for groups.
