Languages for Life and
         Work

The S4 Modern Languages class are working towards their Languages for Life and Work award. Pupils are
learning Spanish however part of it involves employability skills to prepare pupils for the world of work after
school.

Pupils have created their own business called Languages Work and they are learning a range of
employability skills through running the business. Pupils and parents who have been part of the school
community for a number of years may remember that in the past the same class has designed and sold
Christmas cards, T-shirts, mugs etc all with a language theme.

This year we are selling 2 products – tote bags and notebooks with the classes product design on them.
Above, you can see pictures of the items that the class will be selling below.

It is anticipated that both items will be under £5, we are just awaiting final costs from the manuafacturer.

Over the next couple of weeks the pupils will be coming round classes to take orders from the school
community. We would encourage everyone, if you are able, to support this project.

Any surplus profit from this venture will be donated to the Social Bite social enterprise charity with whom
we have worked over the past 3 years.
