   At Solano College, these programs offer
    access to:
    ◦ Industry-experienced faculty and support staff
    ◦ Flexible classes to balance work-school-home
      schedule
    ◦ State-of-the-art facilities
    ◦ Curriculum designed to improve job skills and
      marketability in high wage, high demand careers
Perkins IV Application
 Annual application required
 Provide specific program improvements and
  how improvement activities meet
  state/local-adjusted performance levels
  established for core indicator
 Provide at least one CTE Program of Study
 Application submitted online
 Due to the state by May 15th

What are the Basic Criteria for
Expending the Funds?
 Expenditures    Must:

Are You Required to Budget and
Expend Funds in all 9 Requirements?
 No.
 The 9 requirements are elements required in
  programs eligible for funding
  ◦ If deficiencies exists, Perkins funds can address
    those deficiencies
  ◦ If all 9 are already met, funding can be used in
    the permissive areas

Supplement, Not Supplant !!

   Cannot use Federal Funds to pay for
    Services, Staff, Programs, or Materials that
    would otherwise be paid with State or
    Local Funds

   Always ask: “What would have happened in
    the absence of federal funds?”

    FY 2017/2018

Use the drop down menus to make the following selections

    ◦   2. Select Form Type (Form 1, Part F, 6 digit TOP Code)
    ◦   3. Select District/College (Solano Community College)
    ◦   4. Select Fiscal Year
    ◦   5. Select TOP Code (6 digit format from the drop down menu)
    ◦   6. Select view the report
    ◦   7. Print the report and review data in 34 categories
    ◦   8. Fill in the three blanks at the bottom of the report.

    collaboration with another CTE program

   Review you Core Indicator Data and Program Reviews

   Briefly describe program improvement issues re Core
    Indicators that are below standard (shown on the report
    you printed) and include specific examples. (2000

   What are the specific measurable outcomes for the plan
   Please determine a realistic budget, include any equipment
    quotes—be specific
    ◦ Hint—your program review should have any equipment needs
      identified
 Fill out the Activity Plan Summary
 Finally, get signatures and submit both an electronic copy
  and a hard copy to my office no later than 5 pm on April 21st,
  2017.
