CULTURALS – General rules
1. The teams should register by phone to the given contacts and report at the cultural desk in
    the reception on the scheduled date of the event, minimum 1 hour prior to the scheduled
    time of commencement of the event. Registrations are only for a limited number of colleges
    for every event and will be on a first come first serve basis.
2. Team leaders must pick up the lots at the cultural desk 1 hour before the start of the event to
    decide the order of appearance on stage. The first two teams must be ready half an hour
    before scheduled time of commencement of the event, with the costumes, make up, etc.
    Other teams must be ready backstage when the preceding team is on stage.
3. Timings are to be strictly followed. Negative points will be given if time is exceeded.
4. The judge's decision will be final and the participants shall not approach the judge's desk
    during the events. In case two or more teams share the same place, the prize for that place
    and the next will be clubbed and divided equally between the teams, and the prize for the
    next place will not be given.
5. The events will continue uninterrupted, even if it rains.
6. Green rooms will be provided 40 min before a team goes on stage. One green room each for
    males and females will be provided, to be shared by all teams. The management will not be
    responsible for any loss of instruments, clothes, costumes, or jewellery.
7. A drum set will be provided for the music events. No other instruments will be provided.
8. Time, date, and rules of the events can be changed as per the circumstances and the cultural
    committee's decision will be final. Teams will be penalized for any damage to the college
    property utilized, i.e. green rooms, instruments, etc.
9. No fire props shall be allowed on stage.
Music Rules
   General Rules
 All teams to report to stage area 20 min before performance

  Battle of Bands
 Registration- Rs 1000 Winners- Rs 10000 Runners up- Rs5000
 • Both eastern & western songs are allowed. No instruments will be provided except drum kit
• Input leads from the guitar processor to be brought by the band itself.
• One keyboard stand will be provided
• Time limit: 15 minutes including set-up
• Maximum 10 people
Solo Singing
         Registration - Rs150 Winners- Rs1000                    Runners up- Rs750
Solo- Eastern & Western Prelims
•    One accompanying instrument is allowed(to be brought by the participants).
•    Karaoke tracks are not allowed.
•    Best ten will be selected for finals.
•    Time limit: 3 minutes.
Finals:
• There is no time limit as such but, should not be longer than 5 minutes.
• Karaokes will be checked in prior.
• ONLY vocal qualities will be judged and not of the karaokes.
Rules for Dance
     General rules
• Flash/USB Drives are to be submitted strictly 30 min prior to start of event.
• Introduction can be given before the start of the performance.
• No microphones are provided once the event starts.

     Duet Dance
             Registration- Rs200 Winners- Rs 2000 Runners up- Rs1000
•    Team of 2 .
•     Time limit: 4 + 1 min.
•    Indian/ western music allowed. Medleys allowed.
Group Dance
           Registration- Rs500 Winners- Rs7000 Runners up- Rs3000
                                         Style: Non-specific.
• Number of participants: Maximum of 14 on stage at a time.
• Criteria for judging- Choreo, props usage, energy, sync, expression ,stage utilization, costumes,
    overall impact.
• Time limit: 6-10 minutes (Including setup).
• Props to be brought by the team and responsibility for damage will not be taken by the
    organizers.
• Any kind of fluid, flame , powder or heavy object is not allowed on stage.
• Obscenity of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
• You can have an element of fun in the dance.
• Participants should bring prerecorded music in MP3 format in a flash drive.
• Beyond the time limit, the performance will be subjected to disqualification.
• No marks for theme.
• Decision of the judge will be final and binding.
Solo Dance
       Registration fees- Rs150 Winners- Rs1000                 Runners up- Rs750
                                      Time limit: 3+2 minutes
•   Any form of dance is allowed.
•   Any language songs can be used.
•   Fusion allowed
•   Obscenity and vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
Rules for Dramatics

     General Rules
•   Obscenity and crude comments may lead to disqualification.
•   Judge's decision in this regard is final and abiding on all terms.

      Street Play
              Registration- Rs300          Winners- Rs3000           Runners up- Rs1500
•   Total number of participants – Min 6, Max 12.
•   Total time limit: 8 + 2 minutes.
•   No elaborate props allowed except those made using resources from the streets. No costumes
    allowed.
•   Basic language must be kannada /hindi /english with occasional use of other language.
•   Should carry a message.
•   No pre-recorded music allowed.
Mad Ads
              Registration- 500       Winners- 3500        Runners up- 1500
•    Number of participants per team: Min 6, Max 12 (including narrators).
•    Time limit: 8 + 1 minutes (warning bell at 8min).
•    No mikes on stage.
•    One mike shall be provided backstage for narration.
• Any product(s) can be chosen.
•    No costumes/props are allowed, but a common dress code is permitted.
•    There shall be only one narrator at any given point of time.
• Judgement guidelines:

Rules for Fashion Show
         Registration – Rs2000 Winners- Rs25,000 Runners up- Rs15,000
Prize Categories: Best team, Best Model (male and female).
•     Number of participants per team – Min 8 and Max 15 (including choreographer/announcer).
• One round on any theme, Theme Mandatory - Duration of each round – 12 + 2 minutes (warning
    bell at 10 min).
• Stage with a T shape ramp shall be provided.
• Narration of Max 1 min allowed before performance
• Vulgarity and obscenity will lead to disqualification immediately.

Rules for Pencil sketching

•   Completed work should be submitted in hard copy on or before 13-09-2019, at 4:00pm at
    arts corner.
•   No printed materials are allowed
•   Results will be announced on 14-09-2019

Rules for Painting
•   Painting should only be done on the paper given.
•   Theme will be provided on 8-09-19, at 3:00pm in our instagram/ facebook page.
•   Multiple medium of painting allowed (crayons, colour pencil, water colour etc).
•   Completed work should be submitted in hard copy on or before 13-09-19, at 4:00pm at arts
    corner.
•   Results will be announced on 14-09-2019

Rules for Doodles
•   Theme will be provided on 8-09-19, at 3:00pm in our instagram/ face book page.
•   Participants have to take a printout of the doodle outline in an A4 size sheet. The same can
    be collected from arts corner from 08-09-2019 too.
•   Utilize the pattern given to develop the doodles. NOTE: the pattern given should be visible in
    the final work
•   Can use a maximum of two colours excluding black and white.
•   Work should be submitted at arts corner in hard copy on 13-04-2019, at 4:00pm or via email
    to artscomrmc@gmail.com (digital doodling on iPad, tablet, etc) to the following email id: by
    13-04-2019, 4:00pm.

Rules for Mehendi
•   Team of 2 and time duration is 2hours
•   Cones will be provided.
•   Printed materials, electronic gadgets etc are prohibited.
•   Maximum length up to elbow, one side.
•   Registration closes on 12-09-19 at 4:00pm

Rules for Face Painting
    •    Team of 2 and time limit is 2 and half hour
    •    Half the face of both participants should be painted excluding neck and ears.
    •    The two halves painted on each participant should be connected to tell a story.
    •    Basic colours will be provided.
    •    Participants have to bring their own paint brushes and other necessary items and are allowed
         to bring their own paint.
    •    Theme will be provided on the day.                 Date of event: 13-09-19

    Rules for Comic strip
•        Comic strip to be done on the template provided, and participants are to print out the
         template on an A4 sheet. Only four columns.
•        Theme will be provided on 8-09-19, at 3:00pm in our instagram/ facebook page.
•        Medium of work can be anything (crayons, colour pencil, water colour etc).
•        Work should be submitted at arts corner in hard copy on 13-04-2019, at 4:00pm or via email
         to artscomrmc@gmail.com (digital comic on iPad, table, etc) to the following email id: by 13-
         04-2019, 4:00pm.

GENERAL QUIZ
•    The quiz will be conducted in 2 stages – a prelims and a final .
•    Top 6 teams from the prelims will qualify for the finals
•    Each team consists of three members only .
•     The prelims will have 20 questions .
•    The final will have 3 rounds . The 1st round consists of direct questions and then next 2 will be
     open for pounce.
•    The quizmasters decision will be final .
JAMBOREE
    •   PRELIMINARY ROUND: 1 round each of classic taboo, pictionary and dumb charades (rules of
        each will be elaborated with one demo before the event starts).
    •    Each team of three gets to bid on an event of strength , the score of which will be doubled
        after completion of all three words.
    •   Teams with top five scores progress to the final round
    •   FINAL ROUND : Rules will be announced on spot

TURNCOAT
•       Topic will be given on spot.
•       Participant has to switch between for and against arguments everytime the judge claps
•       Time limit: 2 minutes
SLAM POETRY / MONOACTING
•       All monoacting /slam poetry in English or Hindi or Kannada
•       Solo participation
•       Time limit: 3+2 minutes
•       The act can be an excerpt from published material in film, etc or self-written
•       The excerpt taken must be brought to the event and submitted to the Judge.
•       The Excerpt can be from a play/poem/speech/Dialogue, etc.
•       If self written, a copy of the script must be brought and submitted

    JUST A MINUTE
    •   Standard JAM rules apply.
    •   JAM master’s decision will be final.
CASUAL DEBATE
    •   Teams of three and the topics will be given on spot
    •   Moderator will give both teams and all members time to speak.
    •   Other rules will be explained at the event.

FORMAL DEBATE
•        Two participants (one for and another against the motion)
•        Time for each participant 2+1 minute, followed by one minute of rebuttal.
•        Judging criteria: Content, Presentation, Body Language, Rebuttal
•        Panel Discussion: 10+5 minutes of panel discussion about the current intriguing topic.
        Judging will be based pretty much on same criteria
•       Topics: 48 hrs before the event.

•   Sheets must be submitted by 2pm on the third day
•   Topics will be displayed at the desk at all times.
