What: Rainforest Lumina at Singapore Zoo

When: From July 1, opens at 7.30pm

Where: Singapore Zoo, 80 Mandai Lake Road

Tickets: S$22 (US$16) for adults, S$16 for children aged 3-12

You have never seen the Singapore Zoo like this. For the first time, Lumina Night Walks is taking over the zoo after dark to
blow your socks off with an interactive 1km walk through the tropical rainforest. Rainforest Lumina is not unlike its
cousins in Canada and Japan, which employ good old technology and phenomenal light design to bring Hollywood-worthy
         fantasy to reality.

Review: the US$6.6 billion Marina Bay Sands is kind of disappointing

         #2 Make friends with cats

Look into the eyes of your master. Photo: Matthew Larkin/Unsplash

         What: Singapore Cat Festival

         When: July 14-15, 11am-9pm

Where: Level 1 Atrium, Leisure Park Kallang, 5 Stadium Walk

We all know it – you do not own a cat, the cat owns you. Despite this anomaly in our seemingly superior existence, these
highly independent, intelligent and attention-loving creatures know how to make us love every one of their jelly bean toes
for life. Head to the festival to meet other cats and cat-lovers, shop for your feline friends, and maybe even adopt a new
         cat.

#3 Stop and smell the roses

With flowers all around you, you can’t be blamed for wanting to live in Gardens by the Bay. Photo: Melissa Askew/Unsplash

         What: Singapore Garden Festival

         When: July 21 – August 3, 9am-10pm

Where: Gardens by the Bay, 18 Marina Gardens Drive

Tickets: From S$12 (adults), from S$6 (senior citizens and children)

The world would be a lot bleaker if flowers did not exist. Landscape artists and floral designers have come from far and
wide to showcase their skill with flowers and foliage. Be sure not to miss the Orchid Extravaganza display in the Flower
         Dome.

#4 Eat at one of the world’s best restaurants

Excuse us, Odette, who gave you permission to make us swoon like this? Photo: Odette

         What: Modern French cuisine

Where: Odette, National Gallery Singapore, 1 Saint Andrew’s Road

Even if we do not talk about the food, we can all agree on one thing: Odette paints a stunning picture, especially in the
daytime with natural light pouring in. The modern French restaurant, run by chef Julien Royer, ranked 28th in the World’s
50 Best Restaurants list. Tables are being snapped up quickly so do not be surprised if you cannot book anything this
         month if you hesitate.

         #5 Drink craft beer

There are great photo opportunities to be seized outside Little Creatures. Photo: Little Creatures

Where: Little Creatures, 36 Club Street

Opening hours: Daily, 8am to midnight

Originally from Fremantle, Perth, famed brewery Little Creatures opened its first Singapore branch at the end of May. It
prides itself on its signature Pale Ale, but also offers other brews, all of which will quench your thirst after a day in the city
(in the Singapore climate, any cold drink is welcome). This family-friendly joint offers hearty meals throughout the day,
with many items portioned to share.

#6 Still hungry? Here’s more food

What’s even better than having a meal at a restaurant? Attending a food festival.

What: Streat 2018 @ Singapore Food Festival

         When: July 13 (5pm-10.30pm) and July 14 (Noon-10.30pm)

         Where: Empress Lawn

A 17-day food fiesta can be pretty overwhelming, so if you need to pick something out of the long Singapore Food Festival
itinerary, we suggest going for the headline event Streat, where highbrow gourmet meets soulful street food in the many
food stalls and workshops. There is also a ticketed pop-up restaurant run by chef Emmanuel Stroobant (Saint Pierre, one
Michelin star) and chef Haikal Johari (Alma, one Michelin star), serving a five-course meal for S$55 per person.

#7 Watch the World Cup final

What: The World Cup final on a 3m-wide screen at the Timbre+ courtyard

                 When: July 15, 11pm

D
S Where: 73A Ayer Rajah Crescent

Timbre+ usually hosts live music performances, but for the 2018 Fifa World Cup, it is screening all the matches, including
the final, on a 3-metre LED screen in its courtyard. Dress up in your team’s colours, gather your friends, get ready to
WELLNESS S scream (or argue about the Video Assistant Referee), and enjoy the beautiful game.
