14. It is strictly forbidden to photograph documents of the jury or lists of the organiser.
Recordings of any kind of feedback are also not allowed. Violations will lead to exclusion

therefore always be neutral, i.e. without your name or your picture. The carved cake
category requires you to take pictures that document the cake's making. You must not
               be seen on these pictures.
           - There must not be displayed any advertisement within the competition area at any time.
Violations will result in disqualification, even afterwards.

exhibit is yours before the publication of the results.

        competition.

Please unpack the contents of the envelope carefully (the labels are very small!)
and keep the pass safe – there won't be any replacements!
           c. Glitter colours used must be held for review.
           d. The exhibit must only be unpacked or assembled in a designated area. Minor repairs
can be carried out there. Bring your own repair set! Length of stay max. 5 minutes,
then the place has to be cleared.
           e. The completely assembled showpiece must be brought in one piece to its designated
place on the competition table without packaging. Further assemblies, repairs or
corrections to the exhibit are not permitted at this point! Please take this into
consideration when planning your exhibit! Please take care of the proper orientation –
parallel to the edge of the table (see section V below).

  Regeln 3
VI. Notes on creating the exhibit

  1. Size, height, orientation of the exhibit
      a. The specified base area of the exhibit allows only a parallel orientation towards the table
edge of the competition table. It must not be placed diagonally, if the exhibit has the
maximum admissible size. If you want to present the exhibit diagonally, i.e. with the tip
pointing towards the edge of the table, then the diagonal must not be larger than the
         width of the allowed square.

      b. Cake boards of smaller than the allowed maximum size are allowed as a general rule –
except the category's requirements say otherwise.
      c. The allowed base area must not be exceeded by any elevated parts of the exhibition or
         decorations.
      d. If the requirements state no minimal or maximal height, the exhibit's height is unrestricted.
      e. Commercially available cake boards use the English measurement system. They are
therefore often larger by a few millimetres than the specified centimetre units for the
maximum size. These marginal exceedances will be tolerated by the jury.
  2. Arrangement of the cake board
The cake board must be covered with an edible medium. The arrangement of the cake board
will be part of the evaluation. For easier handling, small spacers are allowed to be attached
underneath the cake board. If not said otherwise in the category's requirements, it is in
general allowed to surround the cake board with a ribbon.
  3. Dummies, stacking of dummies
           a. Dummies are only allowed, if the category's requirements specifically say so. The
              dummies must not be carved.
           b. Tiered cakes made with dummies must in regard to statics be treated like actual
cakes. If the underside of a cake is visible (because it is stacked on a smaller cake, on
pillars, etc.) then it must have a bearing cake board or cake card. This cake board or
cake card must have the same size as the dummy.
           c. When stacking dummies, it is allowed to connect the dummies with plastic or wooden
sticks to prevent them from slipping.

  Regeln 4
4. Handling of food
Even if some categories allow dummies instead of real cakes, these dummies must be treated
    like actual food.
Wires must never be inserted directly into the cake/dummy/exhibit. As a safety precaution,
these wires must be inserted in straws or "Posy Pics". This also goes for materials like "Safety
    Seal".

5. Edible materials – non-edible materials
 - Edible: This encompasses in the cake industry typical materials, e.g. sugar paste, modelling
paste, modelling chocolate, royal icing, gum paste, pastillage, wafer paper.
 - Non-edible: Cold Porcelain, "artista soft" and the like. Specific categories may allow these.
Please take further details from the corresponding requirements.
 - Strictly forbidden are spray foam, hot-melt adhesives, uneatable glues and the like.

 6. Internal support
Please refer to the respective category for use and allowance of internal support.
   - Edible support: e.g. cookie sticks, Isomalt, noodles, pastillage, candy canes. Those are
always allowed, even if a category's requirements do not specifically say so.
   - Food appropriate support: e.g. stainless steel, plastic, untreated wood.
   - Support of any kind: as the name says.

 7. Colours
All used colours must be edible. Glitter colours (as long as they are allowed in the
corresponding category) must be edible (100% edible). Glitter colours (only these!) must be
held for review at the registration, including their original packing. You will get them back
immediately after inspection. Edible glitter can be recognised by the designated E-numbers.
The jury only accepts colours with designated E-numbers.

 8. Aids for floral displays or wafer paper flowers
    The following aids are allowed:
         a. Paper wrapped wire
         b. Non-edible Styrofoam or plastic cones and balls
         c. Tape
Wires must never be directly inserted into the exhibit from the outside. (see VI - 4)

 9. Design
The exhibit's design must be self-explanatory. It is not part of the jury's duty to guess or
research a theme or interpretation. If you want to present something special or
extraordinary, you should state the theme, character, flower, etc. on a neutral plaque next to
    the exhibit.

Should you have still questions after careful study of the categories and the rules, please
send these only to the following address:
