When the thousands of Mill Race
                  Marathon participants cross
the finish line of their 5K and
                  half-marathon races, they’ll have
                  the personal satisfaction of achiev-
ing a goal. But they’ll have some-
thing else — a special keepsake.
All finishers receive a Mill Race
Marathon medal, but this year they
                  will have a new look.

Pacing to
your goals
A runner’s pace is defined as the speed at
which they run, and for many runners pacing
isn’t something they are born knowing how to
do.
Like many skills, pacing takes years of prac-
tice and racing to develop.
A good pace group can take Mill Race
the guesswork out of racing Marathon pace
and keep you motivated groups:
to get you to your goal at Half-marathon
the end of the race. A good 1:40, 1:50, 2:00,
pacer can help followers 2:10, 2:20, 2:45,
avoid mistakes like going 3:00, sweeper 3:57
out too fast, bypassing early
water stations and pushing
too hard up hills.
For the 2021 Mill Race Half-Marathon race,
the event has partnered with Beast Pacing to
offer a state-of-the-art pacing experience for
runners.
Beast Pacing pacers are chosen for their abil-
ity to successfully lead a group while keeping
them motivated all the way to the finish. Pacers
are assigned to half-marathon times 10 min-
utes slower, and are required to finish the race
within 1 minute of goal time, but never over.
Strict guidelines such as these ensure a positive World Records
racing experience for runners at all levels.
