▫ A simplistic and human centric experience which is relevant to how the technicians would normally go about the job in
the field. UX design workshop to engage the users; visualize and experience the application through clickable
prototypes so that participants could relate themselves and visualize the experience. Instant feedback helped to enrich
the application to a more user centric solution.
▫ Iterative development approach where at the end of a wave release, we did a demo with end user group to validate the
functionality and how the information would flow from one screen to another

Our IT & Platform team innovatively leveraged the SAP Cloud Platform to transform the user experience of our people in
the field to help Newcrest improve productivity and safe work procedures.
One of the challenges in our industry is to make solutions available in underground environments and at remote sites where
network coverage is limited. It was a challenge for my team to delivery a robust, intuitive and user friendly mobile
application with offline capability where Technicians can be supported in completing maintenance work orders and access
safe work procedures while working in poor network coverage.
We partnered with Mindtree to build the Work Execution (WeX) mobile application on SAP Cloud Platform using Mobile
Services, integrated with SAP Business Suite and OpenText. Partnering with Mindtree was instrumental in delivering a
value adding and easy-to-use application for our field Technicians. The app was so easy to use that we overestimated the
end user training and change management activities required to support the go-live - an unusual experience where change
impact is often underestimated in most projects in most organisations. In 8 months since go-live, 100,000 work orders have
been carried out using this application and our sites are really enjoying the improved user experience.
