Greetings from your Fullerton Community Center staff!
The FCC team is still here and thinking of you! As a multi-generational facility, the
Community Center is considered high risk and will remain closed to the public until the
State moves into later phases of the reopening plans. Our team continues to work hard
adapting essential services and providing new recreational programs for you at home.
This newsletter features our November program offerings.
Along with these new programs, we have a few personnel updates. Our Senior
Programs Coordinator, Ginger Ivey, has accepted a promotion as the Parks & Recreation
Administration Analyst. Ginger has been an invaluable member to the Community Center
team for the last three years establishing creative and grant-funded programs during her
time here. We are sad to see her move to City Hall, but know that she will be a huge
success across the street!
As we say goodbye to Ginger, we are excited to introduce our new FCC senior
programs team. Education Coordinator Aimee Aul joins us from the Fullerton Museum
Center. Ester Zepeda, our Parks & Recreation Assistant, has transitioned from private
events into senior programs. We are also excited to welcome back Karla Madrigal, Parks
& Recreation Specialist, through grant funding. These dedicated staff will continue to
expand program offerings and are looking forward to meeting you in person when we
reopen.

SENIOR SERVICES Programming during COVID-19 The Fullerton Community Center is continuing partnerships with Meals on Wheels Orange County and Second Harvest Food Bank to meet new social distancing standards during the Covid-19 pandemic and still provide important food services to our seniors. Seniors who are in need are encouraged to call 714-738-6575 to be advised about current programs that are being offered. Referrals to County resources and other services can also be provided. Call today to be added to our Wellness Calls list in order to receive regular check-ins from City staff and volunteers. Stay safe and healthy at home. The following information provided in this packet is also outlined on the Fullerton Community Center website (www.fullertoncommunitycenter.com) with additional links and other resources.
Senior Meal Service with Meals on Wheels Orange County:
• The daily congregate meal program has transitioned into a frozen meal
distribution for senior patrons in the community.
• Tuesdays at 11am: Seniors can come in person to the Fullerton
Community Center to pick up frozen meals. New patrons will need to fill out
an application form and the Meals on Wheels staff person will determine
their eligibility.
Great Plates Delivered with Meals on Wheels Orange County
• Governor Newsom announced in April that California would use FEMA funds
to offer restaurant delivered meals to seniors and those at high risk for
Covid-19. The County of Orange has contracted with Meals on Wheels
Orange County to administer this program for North Orange County.
• For information on eligibility, or to complete the application online please

Grocery Box Distribution with Second Harvest Food Bank:
• Grocery distribution now offered EVERY Thursday
• Drive-up services available for shelf-stable boxes on Thursdays from 3pm to
4:30pm.

Programación durante COVID-19
El Centro Comunitario Fullerton continúa
colaborando con Meals on Wheels Orange County y
Second Harvest Food Bank para cumplir con los nuevos
estándares de distanciamiento social durante la
pandemia de Covid-19 y aún ofrecer importantes
servicios alimentarios a nuestras personas de la tercer
edad.
Las personas mayores que necesiten nuestros
servicios llamen al 714-738-6575 para recibir información
sobre los programas actuales que se ofrecen. También
se pueden proporcionar referencias a recursos del
condado y otros servicios. Llame hoy para que lo
agreguen a nuestra lista de llamadas de bienestar para

Servicio de comidas para personas mayores con Meals on
Wheels Condado de Orange:
• El programa diario de comidas en grupo ha pasado
a ser una distribución de comida congelada para los

venir en persona al Centro Comunitario Fullerton
para recoger comidas congeladas. Los nuevos
usuarios deberán completar un formulario de solicitud y

• El gobernador Newsom anunció en abril que

condado de Orange ha contratado a Meals on
Wheels del condado de Orange para administrar
este programa en el norte del condado de Orange.

• La distribución de comdia enlatada ahora se ofrece
TODOS los jueves de 3:00pm a 4:30pm

hermosa ciudad de Fullerton. Conozca nuestros
programas más recientes que lo llevarán a diferentes
aventuras por toda la ciudad. Asegúrese de mantenerse

Arte en Casa es la forma más nueva del Centro Comunitario Fullerton le brinda oportunidades educativas de arte en la comodidad de su hogar. Los cursos están diseñados pensando en las personas de la tercera eda, pero son multigeneracionales y apropiados para todas las edades. El coordinador de educación de la ciudad proporciona guías de instrucción y tutoriales en video. Courses are designed with older adults in mind, but are multi-generational and appropriate for all ages. Instructional guides and video tutorials are provided by the City’s Education Coordinator. All courses are created with a custom theme and include all necessary materials/supplies conveniently packaged. Art at Home is provided at no cost for older adults ages 60+.
