times in it’s ten-year existence by the Orlando Business Journal, Orlando Magazine, and Orlando Style in addition to
being featured in People Magazine and Marie Claire. Runway to Hope was featured on CNN’s segment Champions
for Change in June 2017 as Don Lemon’s charity of choice.

The Adam Michael Rosen Foundation proudly presents Runway to Hope’s Spring Soiree is the
organization’s signature fundraising event of the year! The highlight of the evening is an inspiring and heart-
warming fashion show featuring more than 175 incredible and brave children, all of whom are currently battling or
have overcome their pediatric cancer. Modeling much more than clothing, these inspiring children walk the runway
hand-in-hand with one of our national and local celebrity escorts. The models who take the stage are all between
the ages of 2 and 18. It is an incredible experience to watch these kids show off their strength and unwavering spirits
as they strut and smile down the runway! The annual Spring Soiree is also a true testament to the support and pas-
sion the Central Florida community has shown towards this inspiring cause. In May 2019, the event hosted approxi-
mately 2,300 guests and an outstanding amount of $1.5 million was pledged during this single, spectacular evening!
As one of the most highly anticipated evenings of the year, the Runway to Hope Spring Soiree takes place at the
luxurious AAA Four Diamond Rosen Shingle Creek.

OUR HOSPITAL PROMISE:

The funds raised by Runway to Hope’s Spring Soiree benefit the pediatric oncology programs at our local
children’s hospitals as well as Runway to Hope’s Family Assistance Program.

ADVENTHEALTH FOR CHILDREN:
Runway to Hope’s initial $1 million pledge funded the Pediatric Palliative Care Program at AdventHealth for
Children. This program provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support to children and their families who
are suffering from a pediatric cancer diagnosis. In 2017, Runway to Hope completed their $1 million pledge
and started a new promise to the hospital of $500,000. This new pledge funded a portion of the pediatric
oncology floor renovation, which was completed in December of 2017. The new floor grew to include 12
large patient rooms, a family lounge, and a play room. In 2018, an additional $10,000 was pledged toward
the pediatric oncology division of CAR T-cell immunotherapy. This breakthrough treatment will assist our
common goal to advance cures for our patients and they are working to develop cell-based immunotherapies
to improve outcomes for children with cancer who currently cannot be cured.

ARNOLD PALMER HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN:
Runway to Hope’s inital $1 million pledge supported Central Florida’s first ever comprehensive Pediatric
Neuro-Oncology Program, which is comprised of a team that provides the full range of medical and
emotional support specific to pediatric brain tumor patients during and af ter their treatment. This pledge
was completed in 2017 and since then, Runway to Hope has promised an additional $381,000 to establish
a Neuro-Oncology Laboratory at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. This is the next phase of growth
as a core of clinical excellence has been built. Runway to Hope is honored to make an investment into their
newly established pediatric neuro-oncology translational research program. These dollars will cover start-up
costs as well as two years of annual operations ensuring the sustainability and long-term success of this new
initiative.

NEMOURS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL:

Runway to Hope’s initial $1 million pledge funded the Community Children’s Oncology Program, which
is a database that improves access to leading-edge therapies, research, and resources for pediatric cancer
patients throughout Northern and Central Florida. Funding also supported the Pediatric Interventional
Radiology Program, which serves cancer patients directly by utilizing rare and advanced imaging
technologies for localized treatment. Runway to Hope completed their $1 million pledge in 2018 and
started a new promise to the hospital of $500,000. In 2019, funding will continue to support the Pediatric
Interventional Radiology Program by purchasing new equipment and training for Microwave Ablation
technology used in treating sof t tissue tumors. Additionally, a brand new Survivorship Program is also being
funded, which will give physicians access to a database containing information on how patients reacted to
their treatments so doctors can better treat all of the children diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

In addition to the combined pledges to the children’s hospitals, Runway to Hope provides desperately needed direct
financial assistance to children and their families affected by childhood cancer. When a child is diagnosed with cancer,
the entire family is put to the test and faces incomprehensible, life-altering situations. Families of childhood cancer
patients often experience a dramatic decrease in income when caring for their sick child. Often times, one parent has to
quit work to become a full time caregiver for their child. Added to this, is the additional stress and inability to afford the
bills and expenses related to medical treatment, which can be very overwhelming. The financial gifts made to Runway
to Hope assist with many necessities including: transportation to and from the child’s life-saving treatments, mortgage
and rent payments, car payments and repairs, as well as frequent requests to maintain the essentials in a home such as
electricity and water. Tragically, end of life and funeral costs are sometimes a reality for these families who have been
both emotionally and financially devastated. The needs are endless and solely funded by philanthropy. Childhood
cancer is not a battle these families can or should fight alone.

Moreover, funds from the Family Assistance Program are utilized to provide the children and their families a
spectacular night at our annual Spring Soiree. Our beautiful warriors and their families are treated to a night and
experience of a lifetime. With most families struggling financially as they care for their child with cancer, there are
usually far too few funds, energy, or time to break away from the daily tasks and struggles. Runway to Hope helps to
change all of that. Providing a new outfit to each model, picked out by the child and one of our wonderful volunteers,
at the Boys and Girls Bloomingdale’s Bash held weeks before, the night is one for them to dress up along with their
families and shine. In addition to their new outfits, the meals, drinks, and special needs that may be required are all paid
for by Runway to Hope’s Family Assistance Program. Countless children and their families have told us how the night
was truly unforgettable and one of the best of their lives.. At least one third of the attendees at the annual gala are
actually the children and their families. After all, it’s all about them!

“This event showcases youngsters who so bravely
fight this dreaded disease, who can at least for
a moment put their struggle aside and enjoy a
celebratory atmosphere.”

                             “When our son was
                             hospitalized for several
                             weeks, some parents at
Florida Hospital told us about Runway to Hope and all of
the fabulous work they do for pediatric cancer patients
and their families. They provide financial assistance,
which is a tremendous help, as well as highlight the
children in their amazing gala. As Grayson walked the
runway with Don Lemon, the smiles on their faces were
priceless. Runway to Hope highlights how special these
children are and brings a much needed awareness to childhood cancer. Our family
will forever be grateful. ” —Michelle Zrelak, Mother of Grayson Zrelak

“I met Rudy at Runway to Hope
one night – but she made an impact
that still moves me today. As much
as anything, Rudy taught me about
grace. She knew she didn’t have long,
but she was determined to let her light
shine as long as possible. Special kids
like that deserve all the help - and love - we can give them.”
— Scott Maxwell, Orlando Seintinel Columnist

“I was so moved to learn the story
of Runway to Hope and their fight
against pediatric cancer. This incredible
organization has offered not only support,
but also much needed hope for the many
families fighting the disease.” — Frank

“It was an amazing experience to be able to
walk on stage with two young children that
had just recovered from major illnesses. I
could see in their faces the excitement &
thrill of being part of something special.
This was their chance to shine and to be
recognized as famous stars. To me, they
are much more than stars and celebrities.
They are truly deserving of our admiration!”
