             Day of Prayer
   for Refugees and Migrants 2020

                                        Dear Parishioners,
Monday 22nd June:
10am Liturgy of the Word with It was a real pleasure to gather with so many of you for the
Holy Communion followed by Eucharist in our church last week and to share the celebratory
Adoration till 3:30pm morning tea afterwards. As someone said: “there was a real
buzz!” I agree. Of course, some of you are not able to join us just
Wednesday – Friday: yet, and although we miss you, your decision is completely
9:30am Mass understandable. Our thoughts and prayers are also with those of
you who are permanently housebound for whatever reason. That
Wednesday 24th June: is why we are hoping to livestream our 9.30am Eucharist from
7:30pm Prayer group meet in the hall this Sunday. We are all part of the one community here at St
                                        Theresa’s.
Saturday 27th June:
5:30pm Vigil Mass – please note new This weekend we join with Pope Francis and all others of
time goodwill in marking World Day for Refugees and Migrants. His
example, both in what he says and what he does, is a constant
Sunday 28th June: inspiration and challenge. He challenges us not to look the other
9:30am Mass in the church and way in the face of such suffering, linked so often to human

10:30am 4th lesson Reconciliation in “I have always been distressed at the lot of those who are
the hall victims of various kinds of human trafficking and
exploitation. How I wish that all of us would hear God’s cry,
2:00pm Sacrament of Reconciliation in ‘Where is your brother?’ (Gen 4:9). Where is your brother or
the Church for the Sacramental sister who is enslaved? Let us not pretend and look the
children. other way. There is greater complicity than we think. This
                                        issue involves everyone!”

Some practical suggestions as to how we might respond
here in our own situations are listed below in this
                                        Newsletter.

                                        God bless,
