Location: At the end of one of O’ahu’s most scenic drives around the iconic Diamond Head Crater
landmark rests an oasis of luxury, The Kahala Hotel & Resort. Private and secluded, but not remote,
The Kahala is situated in one of O’ahu’s most exclusive residential neighborhoods fronting an 800-foot
stretch of sugary white-sand beach. The well-manicured greens of the prestigious Waialae Country
Club Golf Course also border the property. Honolulu International Airport is a quick and convenient
13 miles away via the H-1 freeway and may be accessed by taxi or rental car. Arrangements may be
made through the concierge for private sedan and limousine transfers.

General Description: Luxurious and legendary, The Kahala Hotel & Resort is a full service spa and
resort destination providing unparalleled Hawaiian hospitality in a serene and secured oceanfront
environment. The Kahala completed a US$52 million renovation project on its rooms, signature suites,
and public areas in 2009, and continued product upgrades since, including Wi-Fi a connectivity
upgrade in early 2014. Since its opening in 1964, The Kahala has hosted for accommodations or held
events for every American President since Lyndon Baines Johnson, legions of foreign royalty and
dignitaries, a plethora of cinema and rock stars, and even His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Just minutes
away from the resort is Kahala Mall with shopping, movie theatre, and restaurants. Also nearby is the
ocean-side estate of famed heiress Doris Duke with its collection of Islamic art and artifacts, now
under the direction of the Honolulu Museum of Art. Don’t miss Honolulu’s largest Farmer’s Market on
Saturday mornings a few blocks away. Five minutes further you’re in Oahu’s cosmopolitan
playground—Waikiki. East of The Kahala are some great snorkeling and surfing beaches—Hanauma
Bay and Sandy Beach, along with some challenging world-class golf courses.

Accommodations: Guest rooms and suites are decorated in ivory and coffee-color tones with
hibiscus-patterned wall-to-wall carpeting and Brazilian walnut (Ipe) wood flooring as well as hand-
woven dhurrie rugs in tropical flower patterns. Accents include nautilus shells in window box frames,
ruffle-edged mirrors, and hand-painted dressers. All rooms feature Beautyrest Westbury Recharge
Plush mattresses by Simmons Hospitality for luxurious sleeping. Views range from ocean expanses with

Kahala Beach: The Kahala Beach Suite offers increased seclusion and privacy near the Dolphin
Lagoon and is only steps away from beautiful Kahala Beach. The Kahala Beach Suite’s dark wood
and earth tone fabrics designed by Nicole Miller create a contemporary and distinctly island-style
ambience complete with dining table and an outdoor barbecue grill perfect for entertaining family
or up to 50 guests during your stay. Three sliding glass doors open to the wrap-around patio with
chaise lounge, reclining chair seating, and outdoor dining table. The four-poster king bed is dressed
in luxurious goose down duvet and the finest cotton linens. Hardwood floors adorned with Bali Hai
blue and gold silk wool rugs lend an air of tropical chic. This suite may be reserved with a choice of
one or two connecting bedrooms. Approximately 1,250 square feet or 116 square meters.

Kahala Kai: On the second level near the Dolphin Lagoon offering stunning ocean views, the Kahala
Kai Suite, with its cozy beach cottage décor by Ralph Lauren Polo Collection, is chic and trendy,
reflecting relaxed coastal living at its very best. The room opens onto a private balcony. Other
amenities include a writing/computer desk and compact home entertainment system. This suite is
perfect for families as it may be reserved with one or two adjoining bedrooms. Room décor and
accents reflect the colors of the sea and sand which are footsteps away. Approximately 1,250
square feet or 116 square meters.
The Presidential Suite: Home away from home for Presidents and Princesses, the Presidential Suite
combines luxury sleeping accommodations with amenities for business and private entertaining. The
Presidential Suite is a spacious, 2,200-square foot sanctuary offering separate master bedroom, living
room, and office spaces designed with Hawaiian residential sensibilities for home-away-from-home
comfort. The Suite features commanding views of the azure-blue Pacific Ocean from Koko Head to
Diamond Crater. The Kahala’s Presidential Suite has hosted England’s Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Phillip,
Prince Charles and Princess Diana; India’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi; their Majesties the Emperor
and Empress of Japan; and Monaco’s Prince Rainier and Princess Grace, among many other
celebrities, Heads of State, and captains of global industry. Approximately 2,200 square feet or 204

Imperial Suite: In the Penthouse on the highest floor, the Imperial Suite offers the ultimate Kahala
Signature Suite Experience. Elegant and sophisticated, the Imperial Suite accommodations include a
comfortable and spacious living room, expansive board room, and a luxurious master bedroom with
king bed and an ideal bathing refuge for cleansing and relaxation. The suite also features a
concealed door, which accesses an optional second bedroom conveniently configured with two
double beds. Hand-carved wood behind the master bed reveals a luxurious bathroom with deep-
soak tub, elegant white marbled vanity counters, and super-sized Kohler watertile rain shower. Other
amenities include three phones, personal fax machine, three televisions, DVD and VHS player, mini
bar, in-room safe, separate powder room, and a convenient writing desk. Approximately 2,200

Guest Services: 24-hour in-room Dining Service is available. Laundry and dry cleaning at The Kahala
offers same day cleaning and pressing service seven days a week, except holidays. In-room safes
and safety deposit boxes at the Front Desk are available for guest use. Concierge service is located
in the main lobby. Elaborate Suite Amenity Program included in all Signature Suite stays. The
professionally equipped Business Center is open 24 hours a day. The Hospitality Suite in the Tower
Wing is available for early arrivals and late departures.

Fine Dining and Entertainment: The Kahala’s exquisite fine dining opportunities include five restaurants
from which to choose, all under the skilled and creative hands of award-winning Executive Chef
Wayne Hirabayashi. The renowned and award-winning Hoku’s offers gourmet Asian and Pacific-
influenced cuisine. Hoku’s is also known for its elaborate Sunday Brunch and winemaker dinners.
Casual, breezy, and remodeled, The Veranda lounge serves high tea, cocktails, and light snacks and
meals indoors next to the main lobby or on the lanai overlooking the Dolphin Lagoon, pools, and blue
Pacific. Live music is played nightly. The poolside Seaside Grill is perfect for casual, open-air dining in
shorts or swimwear. The oceanfront terraces of the Plumeria Beach House are open for all-day dining.
Known for its fabulous seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights, Plumeria Beach House was
named Best Outdoor Dining on Oahu by OpenTable. Arancino at The Kahala rounds out The
Kahala’s diverse dining options and offers Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner.

Meeting & Banquet Facilities: Featuring more than 13,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and
approximately 11,500 square feet of picturesque outdoor event space, The Kahala’s spacious
facilities can be configured to any event requirement. The Kahala is one of Honolulu’s most

event coordinators are here to handle all your wedding, banquet, social, and corporate

The Kahala Spa: The award-winning Kahala Spa, with its serene outdoor rest area, ten spacious

CHI Health Energy Fitness Center: Personal Trainers at the CHI Health Energy fitness center will
customize a complete fitness program in consultation with your home fitness counselor or you can try
one of the pilates, stand-up paddle board yoga, hula aerobics, or The Kahala Beach Workout classes
during your stay. The fitness center offers cutting edge technology in the cardiovascular and
resistance machines by Life Fitness and feature an integrated cable TV system with multiple
language selections. CHI Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day with easy room key card access. The
CHI facilities include a separate sauna, steam rooms, and Jacuzzi for men and women.

Dolphin Quest: Unique and culturally-enriching programming includes various Dolphin Quest
encounters for children and adults. These interactive programs teach participants about marine
mammals and other sea life and include a variety of hands-on experiences with live dolphins.

Keiki Club: The Kahala’s Keiki Club programs and adventure activities include reef walks, bamboo

more for the whole family. Ginger’s dresses the modern traveler in a mix of chic ready-to-wear attire
featuring luxurious collections of sensual fabrics and easy silhouettes of spun cashmere and silk
cardigans. Reve Salon is a Paul Mitchell focus hair salon with a staff of stylists dedicated to staying up
to date with the latest styles and techniques. Hertz, one of the nation’s largest rental car companies,
is conveniently located onsite. Guests can rent a car by the day or for their entire stay. Finally, The
Kahala Boutique is renowned for providing our guests with a selection of resort logo gifts and fashion
wear, as well as other accessories, toiletries, and reading material. Pick up your order for The Kahala’s
famous macadamia nut cookies at the boutique.

Business Center: The Business Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week for your
convenience and is located on the First Floor of the Tower Wing. The Business Center is part of our
Hospitality Suite services and is staffed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Services offered are copying and
printing, shipping and postage services, and purchasing Kahala gift cards. For assistance outside
these hours, the Front Desk Managers can provide access to computers and other services.

Complimentary Shopping Shuttle: Complimentary shopping shuttles embark routinely throughout the
day for excursions to Ala Moana Shopping Center, downtown Waikiki, and Kahala Mall.

Kahala Concierge: Our full-service concierges will coordinate exclusive vacation experiences
incorporating invitation only culinary events, golf outings, eco-tours, and ocean adventures such as
stand-up paddle board yoga, deep sea fishing, parasailing or whale watching.
Parking: The hotel’s valets keep your car at the ready. Self parking is also available in The Kahala
parking garage adjacent to the resort. Diners in Kahala restaurants receive 4 hours of validated
parking with a minimum spent. For resort guests, a daily parking fee is added onto the folio.

Brief History: The Kahala Hotel & Resort opened January 22, 1964. The architects who designed the
resort were Killingsworth, Brady and Sutter of Long Beach. David Williams created the interior design
that reflected the grandeur of the days of the Hawaiian monarchy. The resort is renowned for its
seclusion and privacy, and has attracted celebrities in all fields, from heads of State to pop culture
