A Note FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Mimosa Family, Hello to the beautiful fall weather! I hope you all are enjoying cool, crisp days on the golf course. As the days grow shorter and the time changes, please make sure you remember the amended hours of operation. I would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff for their hard work and dedication to our club as we have transitioned from summer to fall. From greens aerification in late August to hosting several important tournaments in early October C00074, the course, facilities, and staff have received nothing but compliments from both the membership and our guests... job well done! I would also like to thank the board and the Preservations Donors Club for all of their dedication and support. Improvements to both the course and facilities are clearly visible with additional projects already in the works. We have some exciting announcements and plans coming in the next few months so stay tuned. As we look forward to the holiday season, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as the 2021 President of Mimosa Hills. If I can be of any assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to me. Regards, Dean Radford 2021 Board President Dean with his family, Grayson, Vivian, Will, Makayla, Leah, and Braylee.

From Your GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT September and October again had above average temperatures. September was a dry month while we saw a lot of rain concentrated in one week in October. We did have enough cool nights in September for the bentgrass greens to heal up well after aerification. The above average temperatures were good for the bermudagrass and kept it very green. Keep in mind that once we start getting some frosty nights/mornings, the bermuda will start to turn color until it eventually goes completely dormant (brown). We do want enough below freezing temper- atures to kill off summer weeds but not so cold that it hurts the desirable grass. The leaves are coming down quickly now, therefore, this will encompass most of our time on into December. We try to keep the golf course as clean as possible but on breezy days we fight a losing battle so please bear with us. As normal, our fall and winter projects include cutting down dead and dying trees and adding sand to needed bunkers. Now that the bermudagrass is slowing down, it is time to move to the artificial turf on the driving range tee. That will begin on Monday, November 1st. Please keep in mind that we have a very good tee top throughout the growing season due to staying off the grass from November through sometime in April. Prior to the addi- tion of the strip of artificial turf there was absolutely no grass left after the winter. Thus it took forever in the spring to early summer to get any grass growing. Thank you to everyone who has supported the Mimosa Hills Preservation Donor’s Club! The new cart paths on holes 1,4,5,10,12 and 16 are a huge improvement! In late September, 9000 sq ft of bermudagrass was put down on holes 16 and 17 as well. Over the years of outstanding support from the donors, many eyesores have been addressed. -Dan Winters Golf Course Superintendent Annual MEETING The annual meeting will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 4 PM in the dining room. We hope you can join us!

Spreading CHRISTMAS JOY It has been an annual tradition for members of Mimosa Hills to help provide some Christmas joy to children in the community who otherwise would have little to no Christmas. It is with great pleasure that we continue this tradition. We have identified children of families that need help this season. We will provide names, ages, and wishes. You can pick up or call to get the child’s name and information from the Business Office beginning Decem- ber 1st. Gifts should be wrapped and dropped off to the office or pro shop by Wednesday, December 15th. Employee CHRISTMAS FUND Mimosa Hills is very fortunate to have the group of dedicated employees that work everyday to ensure members enjoy the privilege of belonging to our great club. In these difficult times, there have been very few wage increases, yet these people stick with us and do what they can to help Mimosa Hills succeed. For several years we have solicited voluntary contributions from the membership to show our gratitude to our employees. We hope you will be willing to participate this year and show your appreciation by providing some Christmas joy to these great people. Please either send or deliver your contribution to the club office or pro shop. If you include it with your monthly payment, please either remit cash or a separate check made out to cash. Please have your contribu- tion to us no later than Wednesday, December 15th as we will distribute these Christmas gifts on
