With a club that began in 1972, 300 graduates today are leading the
sport of hockey in Annecy. A new impetus is emerging for this 2018/19
season: a reshaping of objectives and later, a renewal of part of the
committee, the willingness has been clearly affirmed: go back up to D1
within 3 years.
To achieve this, the strategy of the new team in place, led by the new
President Yoan Ruault, aims to unite players from an early age: indeed,
among the 300 members, there is a very large proportion of children
and this is the strength of the club. Children as young as 4 years old
can be registered. Priority is given to learning the basic rules and values
for a better progress over time.
At the club, there is a festive atmosphere, a highlight of the collective
for a living club with a good dynamic. Julien, the Club’s Secretary and
father of an 8-year old child playing hockey: “There is a very good
attitude, the integration of young people is the priority ... it is not only
the children who get along in the group but also the parents and this is
very important ...”
The desire to integrate more and more young people
is reflected in the composition of team 1 (semi-pro):

AT THE MENTHON-SAINT-BERNARD CASTLE
On the heights of Lake Annecy, the Menthon-Saint-Bernard castle houses in
its keep a library of 12,000 books. They have all been dusted off, one by one:

these treasures. This required the work of two people full-time for nearly a
