Proof of English language proficiency is not required to enter the Semester Program; students will be tested at the beginning of the
program and then placed in the appropriate level. Advanced placement in levels 5 and 6 of the Semester Program is available for

Academic Mastery: University Preparation
2021 The Academic Communication Certificate (ACC) is designed for English learners
who want to improve their English skills to enter Canadian university or college
WINTER programs. Through intensive instruction of English for Academic Purposes
January 4 – April 1
(EAP), students will learn essential skills for an academic setting and acquire
critical knowledge for a successful transition to Canadian university culture.

April 19 – July 16 ACC students who apply to an applicable UCalgary undergraduate and graduate
degree program, and meet the competitive admission requirements are eligible

• The condition of admission for undergraduate programs will be met
