WCF Board of Directors and Community volunteers delivering kindness.
Innovating how we carry the message of Pay if Forward May,
#PIFMAY
the Kindness Mobile enabled us to reach more people. Community residents
showed kindness as they helped one another, created community spaces,
cleaned up neighbourhoods, held lemonade stands to benefit charities as well
as delivered flowers, food and smiles. Leading in generosity, we saw charities
PIF to one another, businesses PIF to charities, businesses PIF to businesses and
businesses and individuals PIF to individuals.INSPIRING ACTION
#PIFMAY
Friendly gestures build belonging, and each of us can
participate in Pay it Forward May.
Vital Signs
Winkler’s Vital Signs 2018, Growing Opportunities,
is a local report card that examines quality of life
through ten issue-areas. We invite you to have a read,
consider our areas of need, and take-action.
What if today you seized not just the information but
the opportunity for innovation? Imagine the impact
that you, your family, your company, the organization,
the department that you represent could have on
the lives of everyone within the city of Winkler and
within the RM of Stanley.
We challenge you to: not be average, be
curious. Encouraging a culture of curiosity generates
improvement and innovation that will grow
opportunities and improve our standard of living. Residents view Vital Signs gallery
Citizen of the Year
At the core of Winkler are inspiring people who live
here: the people who motivate and take-action, the
people who get involved and make a difference. They
are the ordinary extraordinary, the behind-the-scenes
catalysts, the connectors and the motivators.
The Citizen of the Year award is presented to an
individual who continually gives of themselves and
helps many others in the process. Mr. Frank Wiebe
was honored at the 2018 Citizen of the Year Banquet.
Recipient of the Citizen of the Year Choice was
Central Station Community Centre.

Neufeld looks back at first year of university
“Throughout the school year there are numerous weeks where….
[m]ore often than not, it feels impossible to see the end goal.
However, with the support of this scholarship I am constantly
reminded of the encouragement that the foundation has provided
me with. I keep my award in a frame across from my desk so that
it can serve as a constant reminder that I am capable of achieving
whatever I set mind to. It also reassures me that the foundation
believes that I am capable of achieving my goals.”
