Third Sunday after Pentecost - June 13, 2021 10:30 am
Reversals.
So much from our readings today reverse what we
think “should be”.
From an impressive cedar a tender sprig is broken
off and planted, and the high tree is brought low.
An old person (connected with God) will bear
fruit in their old age.
Paul reminds us that we walk by faith, not by
sight (incredible necessity for trust!) and…
everything thing old has died – AND everything
has become new!
Seeds simply sprout and grow, then are harvested.
The smallest of seeds eventually becomes a
comfortable home for many.
What do these things say about God’s plans and actions for your life?
Sunday morning worship service is currently closed to in-person attendance.
Messiah’s Church Council has decided to open in-person worship starting Sunday, June 20 with
Covid safety protocols in place. You will be required to register, by emailing or calling the office,
for in-person worship. This is also Confirmation Sunday so priority will be given to these families
up to the Council approved capacity. You are welcome to join us for worship either in-person or
continuing virtually from your own home. See the June Messiah Messenger for
more information on pages 10 to 12 which can be found at this link:

We will continue to broadcast on Eastlink Channels 10, 310 & 610
with a rebroadcast Wednesday at 5:30 pm. Our services are also on
YouTube. Search for MessiahCamrose. There is a link for service on
our website messiahcamrose.ca. Previous Sunday services are found
on YouTube or on our website at messiahcamrose.ca under the ‘Worship’ tab.
There you will find ‘Worship Services Archived’.
If you know someone who does not have access to Eastlink TV
or the internet, but they have a DVD player, please contact the office at
780-672-3444 and we can make arrangements to deliver
a DVD of any of the services to them!
IN OUR WEEKLY PRAYER CYCLE
Each week we hold in special prayer some of the people and ministries of Messiah.
This week we pray for: Una Opelo and Glenn Frost; Glenn and
Tammy Oslanski; Faye Oswald; Jeremiah, Amy, Oskar and Frida
Overland; Nadine and Larry Patenaude. We also pray for our Bishops
Susan Johnson and Larry Kochendorfer, the Assistant to the Bishop
Pastor Prema Samuel, Rev. Brian Rude (In Mission with El Salvador:
Pastoral Ministry), George Watts and Family (Medical Ministry in Kibuye
Hospital, Burundi), Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots
(LAMP), Rosehaven and those involved in the service ministries of our
congregation, including Messiah Lutheran Women, the quilters, the
Paper Pack, Wednesday Workers, Meals on Wheels volunteers and
Martha’s Table volunteers. Congregations north of us: Scandia, St.
Joseph, St. John’s – New Sarepta, Wilhelmina, Our Savior – Hay Lakes.
