Clinical Medical Assistant - FF
Prepare for a rewarding career as a Clinical
Medical Assistant (CMA). This program trains
you to perform “back office” work in a medical
practice, assisting physicians and healthcare
providers. CMAs perform functions related to
the clinical responsibilities of a medical office
including patient prep for examination and treat-
ment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic
testing, and technical aspects of phlebotomy.
Students will also review skills in pharmacology,

This important class will help prepare you for suc-
cess in the field of health care, both in the class-
room and in the work environment. This class is
required for individuals applying for admission
to Workforce non-credit Phlebotomy, Clinical
Medical Assistant, Physical Therapy Aide, and
Medical Office Assistant programs. Completion
of this course is part of the health care program
admissions criteria. This class includes: (a) an
overview of the health care profession, includ-
ing program requirements and expectations for
student success; (b) the program application
process; and (c) an overview of important safety
procedures including blood borne pathogens.
