HYMN Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim Lyons

Ye servants of God,

and publish abroad
   his wonderful Name;

he rules over all.

God ruleth on high,
  almighty to save;
and still he is nigh:
  his presence we have.
The great congregation
  his triumph shall sing,
ascribing salvation
  to Jesus our King.

Salvation to God
   who sits on the throne!
Let all cry aloud,
   and honor the Son.
The praises of Jesus
   the angels proclaim,
fall down on their faces,
   and worship the Lamb.

Then let us adore,
   and give him his right:
All glory and power,
   all wisdom and might,
and honor and blessing,
   with angels above,
and thanks never-ceasing
   and infinite love.

HYMN 438 Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord
                                            Woodlands

Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord!
  Unnumbered blessings give my spirit voice;
tender to me the promise of his word;
  in God my Savior shall my heart rejoice.

Tell out, my soul, the greatness of his Name!
   Make known his might, the deeds his arm has done;
his mercy sure, from age to age the same;
   his holy Name — the Lord, the Mighty One.

Tell out, my soul, the greatness of his might!
  Pow’rs and dominions lay their glory by.
Proud hearts and stubborn wills are put to flight,
  the hungry fed, the humble lifted high.

Tell out, my soul, the glories of his word!
  Firm is his promise, and his mercy sure.
Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord
  to children’s children and for evermore!

THE CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION OF SIN BCP, p. 129

Let us humbly confess our sins to Almighty God.

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned
against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we
have done, and by what we have left undone. We
have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not
loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry
and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus
Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may
delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the
glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, who in his great
mercy has promised forgiveness of sins to all those who
sincerely repent and with true faith turn to him, † have
mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your
sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and
bring you to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our
Lord. Amen.

HYMN We all are one in mission
Es flog ein kleins Waldvögelein

We all are one in mission,
   we all are one in call,
our varied gifts united
   by Christ, the Lord of all.
A single, great commission
   compels us from above
to plan and work together
   that all may know Christ’s love.

We all are called for service
   to witness in God’s name;
our ministries are different,
   our purpose is the same:
to touch the lives of others
   by God’s surprising grace,
so every folk and nation
   may feel God’s warm embrace.

We all behold one vision,
  a stark reality:
the steward of salvation
was nailed upon a tree.
Yet resurrected justice
   gives rise that we may share
free reconciliation
   and hope amid despair.
Now let us be united,
   and let our song be heard;
now let us be a vessel
   for God’s redeeming word.
We all are one in mission,
   we all are one in call,
our varied gifts united
   by Christ, the Lord of all.

THE PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS BCP, p. 131

All things come from you, O Lord,
And of your own have we given you.
(1 Chronicles 29:14)

THE SURSUM CORDA (standing) BCP, p. 132
It is right, our duty and our joy, always and everywhere to
give thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven
and earth.

The Preface of Epiphany BCP, p. 153
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who took on our mortal
flesh to reveal his glory; that he might bring us out of
darkness and into his own glorious light.

Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels
and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who
for ever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your
Name:
THE SANCTUS   BCP, p. 131/S 125
THE PRAYER OF CONSECRATION (kneeling or sitting)
                                                   BCP, p. 132

Holy and gracious Father: In your infinite love you made
us for yourself; and when we had sinned against you and
become subject to evil and death, you, in your mercy,
sent your only Son Jesus Christ into the world for our
salvation. By the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary he
became flesh and dwelt among us. In obedience to your
will, he stretched out his arms upon the Cross and
offered himself once for all, that by his suffering and
death we might be saved. By his resurrection he broke
the bonds of death, trampling Hell and Satan under his
feet. As our great high priest, he ascended to your right
hand in glory, that we might come with confidence before
the throne of grace.

On the night that he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus Christ
took bread; and when he had given thanks, he broke it,
and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take, eat; this is my
Body, which is given for you: Do this in remembrance of
me.” †

Likewise, after supper, Jesus took the cup, and when he
had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink this,
all of you; for this is my Blood of the New Covenant,
which is shed for you, and for many, for the forgiveness
of sins: Whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of
me.” †

Celebrant: Therefore, we proclaim the mystery of faith:
      All: Christ has died.
          Christ is risen.
          Christ will come again.

We celebrate the memorial of our redemption, O Father,
in this sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, and we offer
you these gifts. Sanctify them by your Word and Holy
Spirit to be for your people the Body and Blood of your
Son Jesus Christ. † Sanctify us also, that we may worthily
receive this holy Sacrament, and be made one body with
him, that he may dwell in us and we in him. In the fullness
of time, put all things in subjection under your Christ, and
bring us with all your saints into the joy of your heavenly
kingdom, where we shall see our Lord face to face.
All this we ask through your Son Jesus Christ: By him, and
with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all
honor and glory is yours, Almighty Father, now and for
ever.

THE LORD’S PRAYER                                BCP, p. 134

And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold
to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy
Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those
who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the
kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and
ever. Amen.
(Matthew 6:9–13)

A PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION BCP, p. 677)

Dear Jesus, I believe that you are truly present in the
Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire
to possess you within my soul. And since I cannot now
receive you sacramentally, I beseech you to come
spiritually into my heart. I unite myself to you, together
with all your faithful people gathered around every
altar of your Church, and I embrace you with all the
affections of my soul. Never permit me to be separated
from you. Amen.)

HYMN 321 My God, thy table now is spread
                                              Rockingham

My God, thy table now is spread,
  thy cup with love doth overflow;
be all thy children thither led,
  and let them thy sweet mercies know.

O let thy table honored be,
  and furnished well with joyful guests;
and may each soul salvation see,
  that here its sacred pledges tastes.

Drawn by thy quick’ning grace, O Lord,
  in countless numbers let them come
and gather from their Father’s board
  the Bread that lives beyond the tomb.
Nor let thy spreading Gospel rest
    till through the world thy truth has run,
till with this Bread shall all be blessed
    who see the light or feel the sun.

HYMN 555 Lead on, O King eternal Lancashire

Lead on, O King eternal,
the day of march has come;
henceforth in fields of conquest
  thy tents shall be our home:
through days of preparation
  thy grace has made us strong,
and now, O King eternal,
  we lift our battle song.

Lead on, O King eternal,
  till sin’s fierce war shall cease,
and holiness shall whisper
  the sweet amen of peace;
for not with swords loud clashing,
  nor roll of stirring drums,
but deeds of love and mercy,
  the heav’nly kingdom comes.

Lead on, O King eternal:
  we follow, not with fears;
for gladness breaks like morning
  where’er thy face appears.
Thy cross is lifted o'er us;
  we journey in its light:
the crown awaits the conquest;
  lead on, O God of might!
