                                                                                                          Kondalilla National Park takes its name from an Aboriginal
                                                                                                          word meaning “rushing waters”. In this cool haven on the
                                                                                                          Blackall Range, Skene Creek plummets 90 metres over
                                                                                                          the falls to a rock pool below. The park shelters five rate
                                                                                                          and threatened frog species as well as the rare bopple
                                                                                                          nut. The ara is popular with birdwatchers and nature
                                                                                                          photographers due to its stunning views, untouched
                                                                                                          rainforest and abundant wildlife.
                                                                                                          Mapleton Falls National Park marks the point just west of

                                                                                                  “At the Big Pineapple we will apply industry leading design and
                                                                                                  construction methods to protect the local environment.”
                                                                                                  Mr Taylor said construction would take about six months to complete.
                                                                                                  “We are hopeful of opening in late 2018, or early 2019, weather
                                                                                                  dependent, and expect to welcome between 200-300 nature and
                                                                                                  adventure lovers every day.”
                                                                                                  Mr Taylor said TreeTop Challenge would offer job opportunities to local
                                                                                                  residents with a passion for outdoors and adventure tourism, with 15-20
                                                                                                  ongoing jobs required across the operation.
                                                                                                  Another step in the renewal of the Big Pineapple: Nature based tourism is
                                                                                                  a big part of the Big Pineapple master plan. The master plan includes an
                                                                                                  agribusiness and food tourism offer, events space, educational facilities,
