THE 2019 BAD CITIZEN GRAFFITI STENCIL:
COURAGE IS AS CONTAGIOUS AS FEAR
              FROM SUSAN SONTAG

Every year we create our signature
“Bad Citizen” Graffiti Stencil to highlight
the authors and the words that push us
to think, read, and be disruptive when
                                        necessary. This year’s stencil features
a timely quote from Susan Sontag:
Courage is as contagious as fear. We
                                        certainly hope so.

About the author: Susan Sontag was the
author of four novels, including In America,
which won the 2000 National Book Award

EXCLUSIVE, SIGNED EDITION WHY DON’T YOU
WRITE MY EULOGY NOW SO I CAN CORRECT IT?
             PATRICIA MARX & ROZ CHAST

This hilarious collaboration between Roz Chast and Patricia Marx is a
collection of witty (and real!) pieces of advice New Yorker writer Patricia
Marx got from her mother. Our exclusive edition is signed with a special
    IBD-only jacket.

About the author: Patricia Marx has been contributing to The New Yorker since
1989. She is a former writer for “Saturday Night Live” and “Rugrats,” and is
the author of several books. Marx was the first woman elected to the Harvard
Lampoon. She has taught screenwriting and humor writing at Princeton, New
York University, and Stonybrook University. She was the recipient of a 2015
    Guggenheim Fellowship.

About the illustrator: Roz Chast has loved to draw cartoons since she was a
child growing up in Brooklyn. She attended Rhode Island School of Design,
majoring in Painting because it seemed more artistic. However, soon after
graduating, she reverted to type and began drawing cartoons once again.

  FLORA OF MIDDLE EARTH POSTCARD
                      GRAHAM JUDD

A frame-worthy large postcard from The Flora of Middle
Earth. The natural landscape plays a major role in nearly

understanding and enjoying Tolkien’s works. Nearly all of the
plants are real species, and many of the fictional plants are
based on scientifically grounded botanic principles.

received a Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Printmakers
