Welcome Shooters,

On behalf of our Central Zone V.P. Darryl Hayes and the rest of our ATA Executive Committee
I wish to welcome you to the 2021 Great Lakes Grand American. It is almost exactly the same
distance to Mason from my home in Collingwood, Ontario, as it is to Mason, Michigan (Great
Lakes Grand), both at 500 km (310 miles). Both are like home clubs to me.

The Michigan Trapshooting Association has hosted fabulous competitions at Mason over the years
and I expect 2021 will continue that tradition. Thanks to the volunteers and organizers. Hopefully
the Covid-19 pandemic will be substantially behind us. There are a lot of trap shooters that have
been in lockdown that can’t wait to smash clays at a major satellite grand.

Hope to see you and have a great shoot.

All target requirements described below MUST be met before firing a shot in the first event of
the HOA (Event #7 – Thursday 5/27). After meeting the target requirement, please return to

7 is completed, class and yardage may only be increased.
Target Requirements:
1) Shooters who do not have a total of 1,000 16-yard targets registered with the ATA in the
current and previous two target years (September 1, 2018 to the day the HOA starts) will be

without an established average shall be placed in class ‘B’ or higher at the discretion of the
     classification committee.
2) Shooters who do not have a total of 1,000 Doubles targets registered with the ATA in the

yardage, whichever is greater. The minimum penalty yardage for all participants shall be 23 yards,
with the exception of shooters age 70 and over, for which there will be no penalty, making them
eligible for trophies and monies. Known ability may also be applied by the handicap committee.

shoot “Targets only” from their assigned ATA yardage provided they waive and forfeit all rights
