SANTA CLAUS CLASSIC
We are pleased to present this prize list for the 2019 Santa Claus Classic, another fun and
theme oriented competition for our competitors. We love to see our competitors embrace
the spirit of the season! Go ahead and dress up yourself or you and your horse/pony in the
Christmas spirit!!
The popularity over the last few years of our Santa Claus Classic has continued to grow so
much that we are easing the busy schedule for everyone and running a Hunter weekend Nov
23/24 and Jumper Weekend Nov 30 - Dec 1, we can’t wait to see everyone!
The 2019 Santa Claus Classic will be the final tournament for Developing Riders Tour and we
will be crowning the Gold / Silver / Bronze Medalists for the 2019 Season at the completion of
each of their divisions each day.
We will be featuring the “Snowflake Stakes” in the hunter divisions. Upon the completion of
the two jumping events in each division, we will be hosting a Snowflake Stake with a Christmas
theme. The Champion of each Snowflake Stake will be presented with a beautiful Champion
Cooler.
There will be a great concession in the upstairs lounge, so bring along some family and friends
to enjoy the show.
Rocky Mountain Show Jumping is also pleased to have Ms. Kelly Claus’s who decorates with
her Elves to the nines!
We invite you to bring your family and friends out to Anderson Ranch to enjoy some great
Show Jumping and some good family fun.

The 2019 RMSJ Santa Claus Classic is sanctioned as AEF Wild Rose and is governed
by the rules of Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF).
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The management committee reserves the right to decide any point not covered in the rules and to correct
any errors or make alterations that may be necessary in the prize list. The management committee
reserves the right to remove any groom, trainer, owner, manager, or rider from the tournament without
compensation.
Any acts of discourtesy, or disobedience to the judges or officials by the owner, rider, manager, trainer or
groom shall disqualify them from further competition in the tournament and the owner shall forfeit all
fees. Inhumane treatment of a horse including polling, or other abuse will not be tolerated. Violation of
this rule will result in immediate disqualification, and forfeiture of the fees. In the case of disqualification,
the horse winning the succeeding prize shall receive the prize of the disqualified horse and the other
prizes will be adjusted accordingly. Courses will be posted in the hitching ring one half hour prior to the
start of each competition.
“Hors Concours” are allowed with permission from the management. Anyone exhibiting dangerous or
unsportsmanlike behavior may, at the discretion of the tournament committee, be expelled from the
grounds and forfeit fees.
These tournaments are Wild Rose AEF Sanctioned Tournaments and the full set of rules can be found on
the Alberta Equestrian Federation website.
Entry Procedure
Entries must be in the hands of the show secretary by the due date listed on entry forms. Entry forms
must be accompanied by a cheque, money order or credit card number to cover all entry fees, office fees,
stabling fees and any other applicable fees. N.S.F. cheques will result in an additional $40 service fee.
Competitors are responsible for their own errors or those of their agents in preparation of their entry
forms. Juniors must have a parent or guardian sign their entry form.
Entries received after the closing date will be subject to a $25 late fee.
The Series management reserves the right to limit entries in any division and to refuse or decline any
entry without being liable for compensation or damages.

It is understood that under no circumstances shall Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, Anderson Ranch, Caroline Jones not the owner, management , Tournament committee, not any of its staff or agents be liable for any loss, damages, claims or costs as a result of Rocky Mountain show Jumping, Anderson Ranch, Caroline Jones, not the owners, Management, tournament committee, not any of its staff or agents, negligence, and that you agree to indemnify and save harmless Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, Anderson Ranch, Caroline Jones nor the owners, management, tournament committee, not any of its staff or agents from and against any and all liability arising out of any such loss, damages, claims or costs. Prizes Ribbons will be awarded to eighth place in all competitions. Prize Money will be divided as follows: $35 Total Prize Money 1st $20 2nd $10 3rd $5 Refunds Exhibitors cancelling their entries before the closing date will be issued a refund in full. After the closing date of entries but prior to the start of the tournament, shall, upon presentation of a valid veterinarian certificate, forfeit their stall and office fees, all other fees will be refunded. Non veterinarian scratches will not be refunded after the closing date. Management The series management reserves the right to limit entries and to refuse or decline any entry without being liable for compensation or damages. Memberships Riders must be AEF members only. Headgear Proper protective headgear (helmet) with safety harness permanently affixed to the helmet is compulsory for everyone riding over fences anywhere on the competition ground. It is mandatory that the protective headgear meets the A.S.T.M. standard and displays the SEI seal. Stabling Stabling will be available from 12:00pm Thursday of the series until one hour after the completion of the last class of the series. Premium Stabling in the Main Barn is available on a limited basis of $85 a day (includes bedding). Stabling is limited. Day stalls will be available at the rate of $58 per day (includes bedding). No horse will be placed in an unassigned stall without approval of the management. Schooling Passes Schooling Passes will be available the day prior to the start of each tournament. RMSJ is pleased to offer $40 passes for schooling over a course in the tournament ring. Please add to your entry form. Trainers can book a time for groups. Please email caroline@rmsj.ca to book times. Warm ups will also be available prior to each division as stated in the tentative schedule. In the interest of safety, the number of horses in the arena at any one time will be limited, as will time allocated to each horse for warm up. THE SNOWFLAKE STAKES
The Stakes will be run as follows: Open to all riders that have competed in one over fences class in the
respective divisions. All horses or ponies will compete in a round with scores to be announced upon
completion of a rider’s round. It will be run as one round. Top 8 ride for awards.
ENTRY FEE: $37
Prize Money to 6th for each Stake is divided as follows: 30%, 25%, 15%, 12%, 10%, 8%
