Terms of Competition
              NEDBANK JUNIOR CHALLENGE
   Played over the course of the Gary Player Country Club.
                        Monday 3rd – Wednesday 5th of May 2021 as follows

                     Entries Close 17h00 on Wednesday the 21st of April 2021

  It is important to note that each player has an obligation to act in a responsible and considerate manner with
regards reducing the risk from Covid-19 for themselves and others. This includes the responsibility for a player to
  abide by and enforce Covid-19 Regulations as required by National Government, GolfRSA’ s Tournament Risk
                     Mitigation Plan (TRMP) as well the host club’s Risk Mitigation Plan (RMP).

2021 Nedbank Junior Challenge:
The Nedbank Junior Challenge will be played over 54 holes stroke play, of which all competitors will play
18 holes daily on Monday 3rd, Tuesday the 4th and Wednesday the 5th of May.
The winner shall hold the Nedbank Junior Challenge Trophy (a floating trophy) until the next tournament
and he shall receive a gold medal.
The runner up will receive a silver medal and the 2nd runner up a bronze medal.
In the event of a tie for first place, there shall be a hole-by-hole playoff, over holes as determined by
GolfRSA to determine the winner.

1. Entry:
By entering the Nedbank Junior Challenge, participants enter an agreement with GolfRSA and agree to be
bound by these Terms of Competition. These Terms of Competition have been compiled by the
Tournament Committee and are subject to amendment under circumstances deemed appropriate by this
Committee. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that they have read and comply with these
Terms of Competition.

All entrants, by completing the entry process and accepting the Terms of Competition agree to accept and
comply with all aspects of the host venue and GolfRSA Tournament Risk Mitigation Plan. This will include
but is not limited to the wearing of face masks, screening and sanitization on each day of competition,
maintaining physical distancing and complying with all other Risk Mitigation requirements. Players whom
display symptoms related to Covid-19 within 10 days of the tournament MUST not travel to the tournament
venue and MUST withdraw from the tournament and self-isolate in accordance with Government
Regulations. (Players withdrawing under these circumstances and subject to this provision will be eligible
for a full refund of entry fees.) Please note that GolfRSA and the host facility cannot be held liable for any
other costs incurred relating to travel, accommodation and other items relevant to the intended
participation in the event. Players whom at screening or during the tournament, display Covid-19
symptoms or have a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius or higher, will be denied access to the facility and
will be immediately withdrawn from the tournament. Players withdrawn under these circumstances will not
be permitted access to the facilities and are advised to self-isolate for a period of 10 days.

2. Entry Fee:
    Entry fee is R600.00 and includes:
    • Free Accommodation (for participants on a sharing basis) at the Cabanas from the 2nd – 5th May
        inclusive. (NB. Where players share a room, the cost of the room will be covered by the sponsors.
        Where a player shares with a non-participant, the non-participant will be liable for R983-00pn
        including breakfast)
    • Breakfast at the hotel on the mornings of the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th and a light lunch on each
        tournament day.
    • All course fees for the official practice round and 3 tournament rounds.
    • Driving Range on the day of the official practice round and 3 tournament days.
NOTE: All participants will be required to attend any official Tournament functions which could include an
opening and closing function on the 2nd and 5th May 2021 (to be confirmed).

                        Entries close at 17h00 on Wednesday the 21st of April 2021;

 3. The Entry Process:
       • An entrant (boys only) must complete the entry process which is online. The online entry will
           be available under the “E” button on the tournaments and Results web page of
           www.golfrsa.com
       • All entrants must ensure that they complete the entry process INCLUDING making payment of
           the entry fee via the PayFast function during the entry process.
       • The onus is on the entrant to ensure that his entry has been received by GolfRSA, in
           accordance with the Terms of Competition outlined herein.
       • International entrants must submit an email entry by close of entries to
           tournaments@golfrsa.co.za
       • On no account will entry fees be refunded unless an entrant withdraws prior to the closing of
           entries.
       • All entries shall be subject to the approval of GolfRSA who reserves the right to refuse any
           entry without giving reason. The decision of GolfRSA as to the acceptance or refusal of any
           entry shall be final.
      By entering this Tournament, all entrants agree to abide by the content of this Terms of Competition
      Document, the GolfRSA Junior Disciplinary Code, the Tournament Risk Mitigation Plan and
      subjects themselves to the terms and conditions thereof.

 4. Eligibility:
    The Tournament is open to any male amateur golfer who must be under the age of 19 years at the
    commencement of the Tournament (Must be 18 years or younger on day 1 of the Tournament) and
    must be a member of a club affiliated to GolfRSA or another similar International Body as recognized
    by GolfRSA who at the time of entry must have a valid Handicap Index of 4.5 or less as assessed in
    terms of the World Handicapping System or an equivalent handicap assessed under an alternative
    system acceptable to GolfRSA.
     All players must at close of entries, have a valid handicap index failing which the player may
     be removed from the list of entries irrespective of any Exemption categories which may apply.
     NOTE: Any player entering may be subject to a handicap check and any discrepancies or “penalty
     scores” moving players into the handicap index limit or inside of any potential ballot may result in the
     entry not being accepted.
5. Exemption Categories:
   In the event of GolfRSA receiving more than 78 entries, the following players will be granted
   exemption from a ballot.
   • The top 50 players on the GolfRSA U19 player rankings as at 21st April 2021
   • Fourteen (14) players whom are invited by and whom comply with the Transformation Initiatives of
       GolfRSA.
   • 5 players from the SAGDB elite squad.
   • GolfRSA reserves the right to extend exemption to any golfer whom complies with the entry
       requirements.

6. Field Size:
   The field size for the tournament shall be limited to 78 players. In the event of entries exceeding 78,
   players remaining on the entry list after exempt players have been placed will be subject to a ballot as
   determined by GolfRSA. All players whom do not make the final players list will remain on a waiting list
   in the event of any withdrawals prior to the start of the tournament.

7. Rules of Golf:
   The tournament will be held in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Ltd,
   GolfRSA’ s Permanent Local Rules (‘Hard Card’) and Additional Local Rules approved by GolfRSA.
   Copies of the Additional Local Rules are available from GolfRSA at the Tournament venue. All
   entrants are advised to familiarize themselves with these Additional Local Rules.

8. Dress Code:
   Only golf specific attire will be permitted during the tournament and this regulation applies to all players
   when on the golf course and any practice facility during any official tournament day.
   Players incorrectly dressed will not be permitted to play and any queries in this regard should
   be made to the Tournament Director to avoid embarrassment.

9. Registration:
   Competitors must register at the Gary Player Country Club Pro-shop at the host venue between the
   hours of 10h00 and 16h00 on Sunday 2nd May prior to the commencement of the tournament. Failure
   to register within the prescribed time period will result in the player being removed from the
   Qualifying Draw unless mitigating circumstances can be proven.

10. Practice:
    • It is the player’s responsibility to make his own arrangements with the venue for the official
       practice round which will be at NO COST on Sunday the 2nd of May. Times available from 11h00.

    • Any additional practice rounds are limited and are at a cost at the discretion of the host club.

11. Transportation:
    Players and their caddies must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round
    unless authorized by the Committee.
    NOTE: A stipulated round refers to each tournament round and the official practice round.
12.   Competition Rules:
      • Tee-off times will be made available on the website www.golfrsa.com and will be emailed to all
        Provincial Unions.
      • Slow play:
        Please take note that slow play will not be tolerated and will be dealt with strictly in accordance
        with the GolfRSA “Hard Card” Pace of Play Procedure.
      NOTE: It is the player’s responsibility to ascertain his tee-off time beforehand and to report on time.
      Non-arrivals: Players who enter and do not arrive will be liable to further action from GolfRSA.

13. Caddies:
    Gary Player Country Club have a sufficient number of caddies for all competitors. Outside caddies
    are NOT permitted at GPCC and therefore, any player requiring the services of a caddie will be
    required to make use of the services of a Gary Player Country Club caddie.

14. Cancellation of a Round:
    In the event of play being delayed or declared null and void for any round of the tournament,
    additional play will be at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. If in the opinion of the
    Tournament Committee, adverse weather or any other occurrence beyond its control render the
    commencement or continuation of any stipulated round impractical, then the tournaments result will
    be declared over the number of rounds completed by all players. Play will not be continued beyond
    the advertised final day.

15. Anti-Doping Policy:
    All competitors Anti- Doping constitutes a range of activities aimed at eliminating doping in sport, as
    well as protecting clean athletes and the integrity and values of sport. There are 11 Anti-Doping Rule
    Violations of which Use or Attempted Use by an Athlete of a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited
    Method is one. All Competitors are subject to the provisions of the South African Institute for Drug-
    Free Sport’s Anti-Doping (SAIDS) Rules. Details of the SAIDS Anti-Doping Rules, and the current List
    of Prohibited Substances and Methods, are available from the SAIDS website
    (www.drugfreesport.org.za). Competitors can do a medication check on the SAIDS website at the
    following link: https://drugfreesport.org.za/online-medication-check/ and should bare in mind that this
    list does not include Supplements. Information on Supplements is available at the following link
    https://drugfreesport.org.za/supplements-and-their-risks/.

      Competitors who have illnesses or conditions that require them to take particular medications or
      undergo procedures may have to apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE). If the medication or
      method a competitor requires to treat an illness or condition falls under the Prohibited List, a TUE
      may give that athlete the authorisation to use the required medicine or method. Only certain
      categories of Competitors need to apply for a TUE in advance. Competitors should check the SAIDS
      website at the following link https://drugfreesport.org.za/who-needs-to-apply-for-a-tue/ which level of
      Competitors need to apply for a TUE in advance from SAIDS. Competitors who are taking medication
      and are in doubt as to their clinical status, should seek advice from GolfRSA no later than 30 days
      before the start of the Tournaments.

      Drug-Testing may be authorised at any event under the jurisdiction of GolfRSA.
16. Publicity:
    GolfRSA, the host venue and the sponsors of the tournament may arrange publicity before, during
    and after the tournament in the press, by live and recorded radio, television and by filming. By
    entering the tournament, the players’ assent to references to them and pictures or video footage of
    them at practice and in play appearing and being used for commercial purposes by GolfRSA and their
    Sponsors.

17. Exemption of Liability:
    GolfRSA, the host Club, any sponsor and their management will not be held responsible for any
    damages or loss including;
        • Personal loss and or other forms of loss, harm or injury sustained as stipulated below:
        • Physical and/or emotional injuries suffered during the tournament, due to any acts of God,
           suffered as a direct result thereof, including aspects such as being struck by lightning, etc.
        • Physical injuries of any kind suffered by any person, including a player or spectator sustained
           by own negligence, or otherwise.
        • Emotional injuries sustained due to any loss, including death, suffered as a result of any of
           the above injuries sustained personally or by a spectator.
        • Damages suffered to any property of a player.

The player acknowledges the exemption of liability of GolfRSA, Nedbank, Sun International, GPCC and its
management as listed above when he signs the entry form. He also acknowledges the contents of the
above, he understands it, and exempts the host Club and GolfRSA from any liability as indicated above

In terms of SA Government Regulations spectators are NOT currently allowed at GolfRSA
                               ranked Tournaments.
