WELCOME TO SEASON 2020 Thank you for your interest in partnering with the Sunshine Coast Falcons Football Club. 2019 was a record breaking year for the Falcons with the Intrust Super Cup team winning the Minor Premiership and the U20’s winning their first ever Premiership plus record breaking crowds piling into Sunshine Coast Stadium at every home game. 2020 is shaping up to be just as exciting and we hope that you and your business will be a part of the action! ON THE FIELD Since taking over as CEO of the club, former Queensland maroons player and former local junior Chris Flannery, has worked hard with Sunshine Coast Rugby League junior and senior stakeholders to ensure that the Falcons are the Sunshine Coast premier team. The pathway between the local A Grade competition (Vantage Homes Cup) and the Intrust Super Cup competitions has never been stronger with non-selected Falcons players being farmed back to local A-Grade clubs to help bolster the local competition. This relationship also gives local players the opportunity to move from their local club up to the Intrust Super Cup at any stage. In a few short years the SC Falcons have gone from cellar dwellars to grand finalists to Minor premiers in 2019 and have had Falcons stars Ryan Papenhuyzen, Justin Olam and Tui Kamikamica (just to name a few) turn into household names with the Melbourne Storm.
Domestic and Family Violence is a challenge the entire community has a responsibility to address. The Sunshine Coast Falcons have embraced the White Ribbon philosophy in playing a vital community role in contributing to changing the attitudes, cultures and behaviours of not only members of their club, but through their profile within the Sunshine Coast community, those who are supporters of Rugby League. The club have whole heartedly participated in an Australian first initiative in increasing domestic and social violence awareness of young men throughout local schools and sporting clubs. We thank them as role models for their community first attitude and look forward to working closely with them for many years to come.
