Scholarship Program 2021

The electronic version of this application form is available through Intrapost, home access (http://mysite.canadapost.ca) or by contacting
the scholarship regional coordinator nearest you; see regional coordinator list on website. The 2021 version of the application form
must be used to apply for a scholarship in the year 2021. If additional information must be part of this package, it must be attached –
the application form may not be altered. The program awards college and university scholarships to children of regular full and
part-time employees (director level and above are not eligible). Scholarships valued at $1,000 for college and $2,000 for university are
awarded annually to up to 29 students who are entering, for the first time, their first year of education in the year in which they are
applying. Recipients may have their scholarships renewed up to two times only, to cover a total of three consecutive years of full-time study.

 Eligibility criteria
Dependent children, including adopted children, step children, and wards in legal guardianship of permanent active employees of
Canada Post are eligible. A copy of a birth certificate is required if the candidate is the biological child of the employee. If appropriate
official documents for guardianship of the candidate are unavailable, the legal guardian will complete a statutory declaration form,
which can be obtained from the scholarship coordinator of your region and must be attached to this application. The college diploma
program must be of a minimum two-year duration. Applicants who have previously received a Canada Post scholarship are not eligible.

 Qualifications of applicants
Applicants must not have taken any post-secondary courses prior to applying for this scholarship, with the exception of CEGEP courses
(in the province of Quebec), if this application is for university studies. Applicants must have completed the requirements for admission
into first year of a full-time undergraduate degree program or college diploma program at a recognized educational institution.
Applicants must have obtained an average of 70% (or equivalent) on the best five academic courses (see list of academic courses
below) in the final year of secondary school or CEGEP (pre-university education). If applicants interrupt their schooling, the maximum
period permitted between the completion of secondary school or CEGEP (pre-university education) and the commencement of an
undergraduate university degree program or college diploma program is one year. During this period, students must NOT have taken
post-secondary courses, with the exception of CEGEP courses.

 Eligible institutions
These scholarships are applicable to all Canadian educational institutions or their affiliates that have provincial degree-granting powers
and Canadian colleges or CEGEPs. Students pursuing a full-time program in a CEGEP or private college in the vocational or technical
stream (CEGEP I, II, III) leading to a diploma or certificate will be eligible for application to the program. Deaf and hard of hearing
students are eligible to apply at an accredited North American institute for the deaf, such as Gallaudet University.

Academic courses – grade 12 or CEGEP
Language arts, mathematics, pure mathematics, applied mathematics, science, biology, chemistry, physics, social studies, geography,
history, literature, accounting, computer graphics, law, psychology, fine arts, French, English or any one language.

 Selection of scholarship recipients
Each region will have its own selection committee, comprising of a senior representative of the Regional Human Resources team and a
Heritage Club member. The evaluation will be based on scholastic ability, character and leadership qualities at school and in the
community. Decisions of the committee are final and without appeal. There is no distinction made between college and university
applicants, and they are evaluated equally.
