flying and is a hang-gliding pilot. He’s the Secretary of Volo Libero Carnia and took part as

tant competitions FAI2 and FAI1 hosted in Italy: Guarnieri International Trophy (Feltre), Interna-
tional Meeting in Bassano, World Hang Gliding Championship (Monte Cucco, 2008), Pre-World

He will be the official scorekeeper of the Pre-World and World Paragliding Championships,

Since 1997, she has been organizing both Hang Gliding and Paragliding competitions and even-

Born in 1984 in Gemona del Friuli, he lives in Carnia. He flies Hang Glider since 1998, is gradua-
ted in cinema and currently is a flight and ski instructor.
Since 2011 Suan is a member of the Italian Hang Gliding Team, with which has won three World
and one European Hang Gliding Championships.
He has flown for more than 2000 hours in the contest flying area, with routes of more than 300
km. He was the Event Director during the Italian HG Championship 2012.
HQ / Admin Manager : Bernardo Gasparini
Born in 1967, since 1999 he is a hang gliding pilot. He’s member of the board of Volo Libero
Carnia and manages the competitive activity and the relationship with sponsors of Suan
Selenati. He speaks fluent English.

5. HEADQUARTER LOCATION OF CHAMPIONSHIP 6. TASK FLYING AREA
Tolmezzo The World Championship, for the first time, will be flown above extremely different and vaste areas: from the sea to
the Dolomites, crossing the flatlands, the Alps and the Prealps. The main competition region will be Friuli Venezia
Giulia, but pilots could fly also above some other regions and countires: Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige, Slovenia and
Austria.
Each flying site is no more than 1 hour and 30 minutes far from the HQ.
We believe that this vaste flying area represents the strenght of our project because allows to identify, day by day,
the best flying zone according to meteo forecast, moving from a place to another and reducing the number of pos-
sible non-flying days.
The competition will be flown in Friuli Venezia Giulia, except for some area where free flight is prohibited. The three
main vertexes (main launch sites and goals) are:
• Carnia
• Meduno – Travesio
• Gemona del Friuli
In case of specific weather conditions tasks could be flown in:
• Slovenia: the flying area goes from the Italian border to Postonia (SE) and Tolmin (E).
• Austria: the flying area goes from the Italian border to Lienz and then to Pusteria, Spittal and Villach.
We are in touch with Slovenian and Austrian NAC and their support to the project is attached to the BID.
7. LAUNCH AND LANDING SITES

Organisers aim to offer a transport and retrieval service at reduced cost to the national teams which will require it.
Usually Hang Gliding pilots who take part to a competition prefer to be independent: this is the reason why we intend
to help the Team Leaders’ job, organizing on their behalf the rental of properly equipped vehicles, also with drivers
if requested. We know the difficulties found during a competition, most of all when Team Leaders look for vehicles
equipped with bars, luggage racks or anything else necessary to transport the Hang Gliders.
In the next months organizers will also contact airlines and airport managements societies in order to discuss any
possible reduction in fares for passengers and Hang Gliders.
11. RESCUE / MEDICAL SERVICES
The medical service will be provided by a national team specialized in emergency and first aid.
Those transportations will be used:
• Ambulance for rescue and transport, with emergency medical technicians,
• Rescue helicopter with on board a triage coordinator nurse, an anaesthetist and resuscitation specialist and
mountain technical rescuer (when required)
This landing field is the official goal during the Winter Race. It has a very large landing, surrounded
with fields cultivated to the ground and therefore perfectly landable.
It is suitable with all wind conditions, except if coming from N and NW. Pilots must be careful in case of NE wind,
because in that area it can reach high speeds.
It doesn’t offer any facility but some ten meters far there is a restaurant usually used by pilots. It is close to the

We worked to this project for 14 months and our regional Government gave us an important economic support (about thirty thousand euro of contribution/investment) and the result was as follows: • 96 Pilots from 16 countries; • 7 Days event with almost 400 km flown during 4 tasks; • 100 Volunteers • The event was mentioned 4 times on national tv • Broadcasted on local tv and radios • 70 Newspaper articles • 400 Web news • 98% Positive feedback from pilots at the end of the competition The entry fee for each pilot was 150 euros and included: • Free transportation and retrival for pilots and third persons • 5000 Euro prize for pilots • T-shirts and gadgets • Packed lunch each competition day with a variety of local products and fresh fruit at the goal • 5 Dinners • Free access to outdoor pool at the landing field • Babysitting service at the landing field and during the competition • Reduced price for camping (8 euro pp) and possibility to free camp on the landing field • Vouchers offered by local shops and discounts for many activities • In case of task cancellations due to bad weather conditions, we offered free transport to attractions, • Events and points of interest • 10 Different activities for pilots during “non-flying” days • Live tracking system for the broadcasting of the tasks on maxi screens at the landing January 28st 2016 34

Vice President Bolzonello informs that there’s the opportunity to host in
the Region the forthcoming edition of Hang Gliding World Championships, scheduled
for 2019. This event, officially recognized by the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique
Internationale), will attract many athletes and, together with supporters, staff and Amaro Venzone Cavazzo Carnico Bordano Artegna Forgaria Travesio Meduno Maniago
family members, could increase the number of tourists in Carnia area (Crostis and
Cercivento), in the municipalities of Meduno - Travesio and Gemona del Friuli, with
consequent positive economic impact to the area. In fact, the formula of the
championship schedules eleven tasks during sixteen - eighteen days in July. Aviano
Moreover, the nation winning the Bid is also required to organize Pre-Worlds during Province

The Board acknowledges and agrees on the opportunity to officially
support the Bid to organize the Hang Gliding World Championships, in order to host

PREMESSO che è intendimento di questa Amministrazione sostenere le attività di varie Associazioni
operanti nei settori della cultura, del turismo, delle attività ricreative e sportive, del settore sociale e sanitario,
anche con la concessione del patrocinio alle iniziative specificatamente organizzate;
VISTA la richiesta di patrocinio, pervenuta in data 21.12.2015 e registrata al prot. al n. 16899, a firma
dei Rappresentanti del Comitato Organizzatore “XXII Campionato Mondiale Deltaplano 2019”, con sede a
Travesio (PN), a favore della candidatura del Friuli Venezia Giulia come sede del XXII Campionato
Mondiale Deltaplano, che si svolgerà nell’anno 2019;
PRESO ATTO che il Comitato in argomento, con la medesima nota di cui sopra, ha comunicato che:
sta elaborando la candidatura ufficiale presso la CIVL, in vista della riunione plenaria che si terrà a
Losanna il 21 febbraio p.v., nel corso della quale verrà scelta la località vincente tra le varie concorrenti;
l’Amministrazione Regionale ha garantito un supporto importante al progetto in argomento, in quanto la
stessa crede nelle potenzialità del proprio territorio , in quanto uniche al mondo per tale pratica sportiva e
straordinarie per la varietà di ambienti che lo stesso può offrire agli appassionati di volo libero;
RITENUTO, alla luce di quanto sopra esposto, che tale manifestazione possa essere un’occasione
imperdibile per la promozione della nostra Regione ed altresì di questo Comune, con ricadute positive in
termini di immagine, di marketing territoriale e di sviluppo turistico ed economico;
RITENUTO pertanto di concedere il patrocinio all’iniziativa sportiva in argomento;
RITENUTO, al contempo, di precisare che la concessione del patrocinio in argomento non vincola in
alcun modo l’Amministrazione Comunale alla concessione di contributi, la cui eventuale elargizione verrà,
se del caso, stabilita e definita con separata e specifica deliberazione giuntale;
RAVVISATA l’urgenza di provvedere, viste la prossimità delle date di realizzazione degli eventi in
argomento;

3. di precisare che la concessione del patrocinio in argomento non vincola in alcun modo l’Amministrazione
Comunale alla concessione di contributi a favore della manifestazione in argomento, la cui eventuale
elargizione verrà, se del caso, stabilita e definita con separata e specifica deliberazione giuntale;
4. di incaricare il Titolare di P.O. del Servizio Amministrativo Associato, competente in merito,

OGGETTO: CAMPIONATI MONDIALI DI DELTAPLANO 2019. PATROCINIO
L'anno duemilasedici, addì diciotto del mese di gennaio alle ore 18:30, nella sede comunale, a seguito di
regolare convocazione, si è riunita la Giunta Comunale.

Constatato il numero legale degli intervenuti, assume la presidenza Mara Beorchia nella sua qualità
di Sindaco ed espone gli oggetti iscritti all’ordine del giorno e su questi la Giunta Comunale adotta
la seguente deliberazione:Premesso che questa Amministrazione sostiene l'attività delle varie Associazioni, nei settori della
cultura, del turismo e delle attività ricreative e sportive, dei servizi sociali, sia con l'intervento diretto, sia con
il patrocinio delle iniziative specificatamente organizzate;
Vista la richiesta in data 21.12.2015 con la quale il Comitato organizzatore del campionato mondiale
di deltaplano 2019 con sede a Travesio (Pn) esponendo il progetto di candidatura del Friuli Venezia Giulia
ha avanzato richiesta di sostegno da parte di questo Comune a favore di questo evento
Preso atto che la nomina della località vincente alla quale affidare l’organizzazione di questa
competizione di livello mondiale avverrà a Losanna il prossimo 21 febbraio;
Preso atto che i territori proposti dal comitato in sede di candidatura saranno quelli della Carnia e dei
Comuni di Meduno, Travesio e Gemona;
Rilevata l’importanza che questo evento può costituire per l’intero territorio in termini di
valorizzazione dello stesso e di promozione in tema di risorse naturalistiche e turistiche;
Preso atto della volontà manifestata dalla Giunta Regionale di supportare ufficialmente questa
candidatura ritenendola strategica in termini di possibili ricadute economiche per il territorio regionale;
Ritenuto, di sostenere e supportare la candidatura in oggetto;
Visto il Dec.Lgs. 18-08-2000, n. 267;
Visto il vigente Regolamento di Contabilità;
Visto il parere favorevole espresso sotto il profilo tecnico dal responsabile del Servizio Affari
Generali;
Visto l’art. 1, comma 19 della L.R. 11-12-2003, n. 21, per quanto attiene l’immediata esecutività del
presente atto;
Unanime, con separata votazione sia per quanto concerne il provvedimento sia per l’immediata
esecutività del presente atto,
DELIBERA
1. di accogliere la richiesta, avanzata dal Comitato organizzatore del campionato mondiale di deltaplano 2019
finalizzata a sostenere la candidatura della regione Friuli Venezia Giulia quale sede dell’evento sportivo;
2. di dichiarare, data l’urgenza, la presente deliberazione immediatamente esecutiva ai sensi dell’art. 1, comma
19 della L.R. 11-12-2003, n. 21.

RAVVISATA l’urgenza di provvedere, viste la prossimità delle date di realizzazione degli
eventi in argomento;
