area. "The yard features a swale that was purposefully designed to function as a
natural, in-ground gutter," says one of the homeowners. "When rain races off the
roof, the water is then stored [in the swale] to nourish the more than 100 plants that
surround the home."

block countertops that span the back wall of the room. All-new stainless-steel
appliances complete the space.

The painted brick fireplace that anchors the living room now serves as clever storage
space.

         "The corner lot has amazing southern exposure, which floods the home with morning light
         and tends to our landscaped yard in the afternoon," says one of the homeowners.
