Alleyn’s Junior School
School Uniform
2018 – 2019
Our children wear a simple and practical uniform that meets the
needs of this age group and all they encounter at school with some
seasonal modifications.
Our uniform supplier is John Lewis (www.johnlewis.co.uk) with
additional items being available from the Alleyn’s Junior School
Association (AJSA) Uniform Shop.
The AJSA Uniform Shop is open on site every fortnight, on a Friday
morning 8.15 – 8.45am. It is also open before key events for new
pupils and new parents. The shop sells good quality second hand
uniform as well as some new items as indicated below

Items marked with + are only available from The Uniform Shop at Alleyn’s Junior School
There are separate uniform lists for children in the Infants
(Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) and in the Juniors (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6)

Pupils with hairstyles that sit below the ear line
are required to wear swimming hats when using
the pool. This is primarily for pupil safety and
to facilitate skill acquisition. Flowing hair can
impair vision and stroke technique and so needs
to be appropriately covered when swimming.

Infants should keep a spare pair of underpants,
shorts/tracksuit bottoms and navy socks in their PE
bags in case of accidents.
Reception Forest School
Reception visit our Forest School site once a week. There is no such thing as bad weather
and we dress for all occasions. We will provide the waterproof coat, trousers and bag for
your child. We would like you to provide:
Knee high wellingtons
Wellington socks
Spare pair of socks
Long sleeve T‐shirt (for both summer and winter)
Tracksuit bottoms
Warm fleece
Hat and gloves
These will all get very dirty and will be sent home to you for washing on a regular basis!

Page | 12The Uniform Shop For good quality second hand uniform and some new uniform items The AJSA Uniform Shop is open on site every fortnight, on a Friday morning 8.15 – 8.45am, the dates are in the School calendar on the Hub. It is also open before key events for new pupils and new parents. The shop sells good quality second hand uniform as well as some new items which cannot be purchased elsewhere. We very much rely on donations from the parent community and items can be dropped off to the School Office at any time. To receive 50% of the proceeds please ensure your name and mobile number is clearly attached to the bag. Staffed by parent volunteers, we also stock other pre‐loved sports items such as football boots, shinpads and gloves; astro shoes, trainers and cricket pads and clothing. For extra‐curricular clubs, we stock a selection of taekwondo sparring kit and ballet items. Our aim is to sell items at no more than half of the new price and to keep the standard as high as possible to ensure that all pupils feel proud to be wearing the school uniform.
